Description: The Blue Elephant offers a number of atmosphere options to make sure you have exactly the experience you're looking for. Do you want a restaurant with a relaxing, homey comfort? Try our Dining Rooms. Looking for a bit more flair in your atmosphere? The Thai Room adds a little spice to your ambiance. Do you want to hit the pub for a relaxing pint? Our Brewhouse has a warm and friendly bar and a selection of delicious fresh-brewed beers. Mouth-Watering Made-In-House Dishes At the Blue Elephant, we want your dining experience to be absolutely perfect. That's one of the reasons we make certain that our entire menu is made-to-order, allowing you to make any tweaks to our recipes to suit dietary restrictions as well as your personal tastes. Excellent Food, Made With Local, Fresh Ingredients Keeping it local is a great way to support the Norfolk economy, but we'd be lying if we said that was the only reason we shop local for our food. Locally grown ingredients means that all of our in-season produce is as fresh as you can get without eating it straight off the plant. By supporting local businesses, we're reaping the benefits: crisper greens, more succulent reds, and an all-around unparallelled local cuisine. NORFOLK'S FIRST, AND ONLY, MICROBREWERY The Blue Elephant Craft Brew House went on tap in September 2012 and the brews are being poured faster than we can brew them! In traditional European fashion, our beer is brewed in small batches with no additives or preservatives using local organic barley, wheat, hops and pure water. Our fresh ales, lagers, pilsners and specialty brews are available on tap in the pub, and for retail sale in our Brew Store. Be sure to look for our rotating selection of seasonal brews throughout the year!

No selection on the menu - all thai crap. Beers you've never heard of. Slow service. Sat us in a shed. Go somewhere else on the highway. Deep fried grease.

“The Blue Elephant...Who knew??”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

My husband and I, on a bit of a staycation, went to Simcoe to try out The Blue Elephant. I was so glad we chose to try it. We were greeted by our server Lara, who led us to our table. She suggested we try some of their own brew. A strawberry pilsner. I don't like beer but I really liked this, as did my husband. We then placed our order, me BBQ'd chicken and salad, hubby got a Blue Elephant Club. Both entrees were nicely presented and very good. This restaurant features local produce, and other products. A very nice touch. The employees all seemed very friendly, especially Lara, who just started there. We will definitely be going back with some friends. Delicious and still full.

“Yuck”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

Ate at the Blue Elephant for the first time last night. We are new to SImcoe and the restaurant visually is very nice. The food was AWFUL. We ordered Mexicali Nachos. What we received were corn chips from a bag, sprinkled lightly with shredded cheese that was obviously put in the microwave, the "spiced Mexican beef" was like spaghetti meat sauce, there were mushrooms in it! Proper nachos consist of home made corn chips, Mexican beef, fresh veggies, peppers, onions, tomato, lettuce, cilantro etc. Came with salsa and sour cream, no guacamole which the menu says come with it, ok though because it was probably awful as well. Also got the Mexican chicken wrap, wow, just wow. Was in a spinach tortilla and had white rice in it. A proper Mexican wrap would have yellow rice, re-fried beans, Mexican chicken seasoned with cumin, there was no cumin used any where! Really an embarrassment to Mexican cuisine. This food was lazy, production line, take out mess, won't go back, such a shame.

“Impressed”
Reviewed May 27, 2013 via mobile

Wasn't sure what to expect at a pub in a small town like Simcoe simple items and i must say we were very pleased. Caesar salad, mushroom consommé, bruschetta, veggie spring rolls and sweet potato fries. All were delicious, generous portions, and many of the ingredients are local. Prices are very reasonable and the staff very friendly. I will certainly come back when I'm in the area again.

“Very disappointed”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

I always wanted to go to the Blue Elephant because I heard that it was pretty good. We walked into this big old house that has a mish mash of Thai elephant figurines all over the place. There was an old newspaper article from ten years giving the Blue Elephant rave reviews. The room was empty and it was May but the christmas decoration was still hanging from the ceiling above us. We sat down and had tasted a few beers and they were pretty good. We ordered the Pad Thai and Thai combo plate. The Pad thai was one of the worst I have ever had. It was very bland and hard to choke down. The Thai plate came with Chicken skewers that were only chicken breast lightly charred. Virtually tasteless. The coconut shrimp was good. The wrap was very good. The spring rolls tasted like something out of a box. I am glad I went because I now know not to return and have eliminated this off of my itinerary.
