Their name says it. The Comfort Inn Simcoe has everything I need and more while doing business in the Simcoe area. The staff go out of their way to make me feel welcome daily, not just when checking in. The rooms are very clean and come with microwave and bar fridge. The breakfast area is fully equipped and well attended to. I will definitely be back.

Just like the first sighting of little Robin Redbreast, an email from this Birding Group allows us a great sigh of relief because we now have affirmation that winter WILL SOON END! It is always such a pleasure to have your group here! The group of birders has grown in numbers over the last couple of years as well!

We trust you were rewarded with sightings of the many ornithological species in our Biosphere. We look forward to seeing you all again in Spring of 2013! We are really hoping our breakfast room would be expanded by then. Fingers Crossed! Until then,

Yours in Hospitality

We stayed here with a large (20) birding group and they were able to accommodate us easily. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. The breakfast room is tiny but they make a concerted effort to supply whatever you need. Enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at this site on a Saturday night while attending a friend's wedding. The location was excellent; close to the major roadways, very close to shopping and restaurants. While the hotel itself is on the older side, it is very well maintained and the room was clean, in excellent repair and had everything we needed. I stayed over the Easter weekend and we even had a little Easter treat left on the desk for us to enjoy! The bathroom was spacious, the tub and shower were lovely. The addition of a small nightlight in the bathroom was a fantastic idea! The beds had ample pillows and nice blankets. It did get a little noisy early in the morning when other guests were leaving, however, the guests in the hall were considerably louder than they needed to be at 7 a.m. Check in and check out were seamless and pleasant. The front desk staff gave us excellent directions to Port Dover (we had some time to kill before the reception!). All in all, a very pleasant stay!

We very much appreciate your positive review of our property here in Simcoe, Ontario. Thank you. We are pleased that your visit here was pleasant. Available to our guests are complimentary gourmet coffee, tea, hot chocolate, peanuts and popcorn, and Empire cookies. On special holidays we also have added treats such as the Easter chocolates in our hand made "Easter Bunny baskets" formed from facecloths. Our guests will find the Easter Bunnies in their rooms upon check in, or upon their return to their room if already registered.

Again, we greatly value your input. We hope you are able to return to the area during warmer months to enjoy all that Norfolk County has to offer!

I was a little leary of having to come back to the Nanticoke area for business in January, of all winter months. Fortunately the weather was beautiful, no snow at all, though a bit cool at the beach for swimming, ice and all. But again, the Comfort Inn was Comfortable. The Keurig in the breakfast room was nice, I tried the Earl Gray tea. For a quick dinner, the Swiss Chalet next door was good, they had a gluten-free chart with the menu which was helpful to me.

Thank you for another great review. We are very glad that your return to the area was positive and hope you will return often. You should come and enjoy a leisurely visit when the weather is fine. During the spring and into the fall our area boasts a festival of one sort or another nearly every weekend. We have everything from Fishfest in Port Dover duringthe spring, to Friendshipfest during the summer, and Pumpkingfest in Waterford in the fall. You might even enjoy the EcoAdventure in our Long Point Bioshpere where you can try the zipline, kayak or canoe, and of course, birding. We also have many local wineries! Check out norfolktourism.ca for all the activities in this area.

We look forward to your next visit!

I've stayed at this property 3 times now. Simcoe is a pleasant little town where I've come in to do shows. The hotel is convenient, large rooms, fridge, etc. but it's getting a smidge tired. I noticed a lack of attention in the housekeeping this time. The free breakfast leaves a little to be desired. The bed is comfortable, even the pillows were pretty good. I was thankful for that, because I usually bring my own, and forgot this time.

Room Tip: Don't get rooms near the front desk or breakfast room, a little noisy. In the summer the sun be...

Thanks again, Chrystal, for your helpful review. I notice that you were here during hockey tournaments. As you know by your participation in hockey, these groups of children tend to be excited about competing. Spirits are high. It is a very hectic time for our staff while sport groups are occupying the property. Our housekeepers have a difficult time working around all of the luggage and gear associated with these groups. Once the hotel is cleared out, they work extra hard to set rooms back to right. And yes, it surely can be a little noisy, especially near the lobby where people tend to gather.

It is nice to know that as a rule, you stays with us are pleasant. We hope you continue to stay here at the Simcoe Comfort Inn. Please continue also with your reviews. Your input is appreciated and will not go unnoticed by our head office.

We stayed here for a visit to the Norfolk County Fair. The whole place was very clean and the yard was well cared for. Since it was BBQ weather, even though it was Thanksgiving Weekend (yay! bonus!) we were thrilled to use the grill they had out back. The grill was clean, there were tools available at the front desk, and it was easy to have a home-cooked, inexpensive, special meal. In the brochure they talk about their "park-like grounds". I thought this would be like "ocean view", you know where you see the water kinda-sorta over there, maybe. Well it is as big as some parks.

There is a fridge, a microwave, a couch, table and chairs, flat screen tv, a queen bed and the "curved shower rod" really did make an extra difference plus I liked the way they tucked the shower curtain in. I have a picture about that.

Breakfast is in a tiny space. It's the usual free continental breakfast: fruit, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, bread, muffins. They did have hard boiled eggs which made me happy and I saw individual servings of CheezWhiz. I've not run into that before.

So, why 4 stars and not 5? We found the bed super hard. But this kind of thing is very subjective. The pillows were fantastic; little puffy overstuffed things, two per person in our case.

Oh, the only other thing I wanted was a screen door over the patio door. It was our only window, and I like the fresh air, so we were open to the world.

We'd go back.

Thank you for your wonderful review of our hotel. What a wonderful t ime for you to be here during the Norfolk County Fair and Horseshow. The entire week of the fair was the best weathter imaginable with average temperatures in the mid 70's! We are happy you were able to take full advantage of the weather and our grill. Our property truly is park-like. We have even had a bridal party use it for their wedding photos!

Now is the time of year we add hot mulled cider to the list of special complimentary beverages available during the afternoons and evenings. Couple that with our complimentary Empire Cookies and you're set!

We hope you are able to return and enjoy Simcoe's Christmas Panarama. There are a lot of fun things associated with that! Log on to norfolktourism.ca to find out more.

Again, thank you for choosing the Comfort Inn Simcoe.

Been to the north shore of Lake Erie before, but the first time I stayed in Simcoe. What a nice little town, an area of mainly farmland. 1. It's easy to find on the main drag, 2. I was greeted by a very nice lady, and 3. the room was perfect. Overall a very positive experience, I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Get a room in the rear, the view is grassy areas and trees, away from the highway. Outdoor grill an...

Your review gives a lovely and accurate sense of our little town and we thank you for that. Highway 3 runs east to west from Fort Erie to Windsor. Being situated 2 hours from Fort Erie with another hour to go before you reach Woodstock, the next large town to the west, weary travellers are given an opportunity to take a break from driving and take in some beautiful scenery by stopping in Simcoe.

When you were here, we hope you were able to enjoy some of the sights around this area. We are close to the beaches of Lake Erie. There are the wind farms, many wineries, museums, antique shops, the Long Point Biosphere, and many great restaurants. Or, like you said, we also have a grill for which we supply utensils and dishes. Our back yard is so pretty that it was recently used by a wedding party for their photos!

We do hope you come to Simcoe again soon. When you do, make a long weekend of it and take in all you can while you are here!
