“Disaster and it had to be on Valentines Day. :(”
Reviewed February 27, 2010

I noticed that the reviews on this site have not been since last year 2009...WELL WE had a very bad experience I do hope that the staff have been re-educated in their customer service and housekeeping skills.
We booked online and decided to up-grade once we saw the expensive room that had a different look from the online bookings...it was Valentines Day and so the room we saw online with the Heart Shaped Jacuzzi Tub was available so we took it instead. Who wouldln''t? From there the Nightmare started.... It bothers me to even talk about it because it was snow storm night and we were so tired from the long day. We walked into the pretty room and noticed pee marks on the toilet..and saw foot prints on the floor...so that flagged me...I called the front desk staff and she was wonderful...very professional and helpful..she came in and cleaned the toilet. I saw the floor still dirty so I took a washcloth and wiped the floor myself...ughh....all kinds of Hairs and dirt! I made the mistake of giving it to the front desk..I should have sent it to the Corporate Office via Fedex...the Housekeeping Supervisor came in and made every excuse....oh this room was not supposed to be opened....IT WAS ONLINE!!! Then we check the bed...HAIR!!! on the mattress COVER!!! ugh!!!!!!!!! We changed the bedding!! Okay....I was in tears!!! It was Valentines...we had ordered dinner in since their restaurant wasn't opened and we were so tired...we now have a clean bathroom and bed..that's all we need...so we go and start the Heart shaped Jacuzzi...........and BROWN AND BLACK FLAKES fly out of the jets!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?????????????? NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! to make a long story short and I am so disappointed! We were lied to...we were treated like crap...for a $250 room we had to pay $200 and when we wrote the corporate office they are sending us a $75 gift card!!!!!! Yeah..okay. All I have to say to you out there looking for a nice clean room...take a wet Kleenex and brush it on the bathroom floor if it has hairs and yuk on it..check the BED!!! disgusting!!!! So unhealthy and unacceptable!!! BEST WESTERN Corporate office..you have no idea how they lied and tried to cover themselves up!The housekeeping supervisor even said: Well...you are going to find a hair or two on any floor.....WHAT??????? for a $250 dollar room...NO!!! YOU SHOULD NOT SEE ANYONE'S PUBIC HAIR!!!! It would have been better to acknowledge the mistakes right from the start..I WILL NEVER WALK INTO THIS BEST WESTERN EVER AGAIN.

From start to finish our stay at the Best Western Hotel in Simcoe was great. We were a small wedding party, staying at the Best Western for a wedding held at Cranberry Creek (about 15 minutes away down a beautiful country road).

We had everything we needed and could have wanted, including nice fully air conditioned rooms with comfortable beds, dinner and breakfast in a lovely dining room, and a nice outdoor pool. All service was friendly and done with a big smile!

We stayed at the Best Western in Simcoe (aka Best Western Little River Inn) for one night on July 4th. We were originally planning on staying at Comfort Inn but there was no availability so we decided to try the Best Western instead. The good thing was that Best Western was a pet-friendly hotel as we were traveling with our two dogs and the rate was cheaper than Comfort Inn ($99 plus taxes for non-smoking queen room at Best Western). No extra charge for the dogs.

The check-in and check-out was quick. No line-ups and friendly people working at the front desk. Check-in is at 2:00 pm and check-out is at 11:00 am. Make sure you check-out by 11:00 am or else they will charge you for an extra day. We had booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself, and one for my in-laws. The girl at the front desk assigned us rooms 417 and 418 which were at the back of the hotel. There was a back entrance in the hallway near our rooms which led to a patio as well as lots of grassy areas which is great if you have to take your dogs out. There is also a parking lot at the back so it’s convenient to bring your stuff from your car to your room.

The rooms were spotless, we had double bed in ours and my in-laws had a king sized bed. Both rooms were non-smoking, had a dresser, two night tables, lampshades, couch, coffee table, desk, TV, coffeemaker with some coffee and tea. The bathroom was really clean and had a tub with shower. Also, toiletries such as face soap, bath soap, Kleenex, toilet rolls were provided. There was a dispenser in the tub for shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. A couple of bath towels, face cloths and hand towels were provided as well as a hairdryer which was pretty powerful.

The best part of the hotel was the outdoor heated pool which had pretty shallow water which was great for kids. Not sure what time it opened but both the pool and hot tub closed at 11:00 pm. There were also lots of loungers around, a couple of gazebos as well as patio umbrellas, chairs and tables which were set around the pool. There was also a hot tub. If you needed pool towels, you had to get them from the front desk. If you’re planning on using the pool, you might as well ask for the pool towels when checking in to save you a trip to the front desk again.

Continental breakfast and high speed internet was also included in your stay. The continental breakfast was served from 7:00 am to 10:00 am in the restaurant. The misleading thing is that when you walk into the restaurant, you have to wait to be seated and then the waitress comes to take your order. Pretty good prices and lots of selection for breakfast but this is not included as you have to pay out of your own pocket. Once we sat down, we realized this was not the complimentary continental breakfast when we saw the sign for continental breakfast at the back of the restaurant that leads down a few stairs. We went to check it out and it was basically just toast, cereal, waffles, jam, coffee and tea. Very basic so we decided to pay for breakfast at the restaurant. The prices were pretty reasonable considering it was a restaurant at the hotel and usually they tend to be more expensive than regular restaurants, due to convenience I guess. Just make sure when you are standing in line to be seated, you tell the hostess that you want continental breakfast, unless you want to pay for breakfast.

The hotel looks really fancy from the outside at night as it’s all lit up. There are some grocery stores such as Metro and Superstore just a few blocks down as well as lots of gas stations and Canadian Tire. We were meeting some family who were camping at Long Point Provincial Park and it’s about 35 to 40 minutes drive from the Best Western.

My in-laws usually stay at Comfort Inn when they travel and they kept saying how Best Western was so much better and cleaner than the Comfort Inn.

The lobby, pool, rooms, restaurant and the hotel overall was extremely clean.
If we were in the Simcoe area again, we would definitely stay at this hotel again without a doubt.

This is one great stay....beats the hell outta any usual Best Western and I rate them the best been staying at...and been traveling now regularly for the last 3 to 4 years....they really worked their rear end off to fit me in in a real busy season. The rooms are comfy as is normal but the restaurant....oh my...well iffen you haven't been there but the cook is reeealy good
Reckon staff more than helpful and not to mention friendly and don't get me wrong..they are friendly like point you in the right direction etc.
Can't rate this stay high enough...but if ya stop hear...if you complain you have a real bad problem

We recently stayed the the Little River Inn as there was a whole group of us for a nearby wedding. I am guessing for this event there were probably 50 rooms booked.
We had a reception event planned for friday night and the service was fantastic. Very friendly bar service...thank you Shirley. Food was very good.
Pool area was nice, jacuzzi was awesome...just right temperature.
As we were such a large group they opened a separate room off the dining area after 11 pm so that other guests were not disturbed. Robert, whom worked the front desk at night was incredible. He found us a ghetto blaster, jugs of water and although we asked for some munchies - he could only come up with cereal and melba toast, but he tried and he didn't come back empty handed. We thought Robert was great.
The whole team of employees should be credited with superb service.
Would not hesitate going back.
