Visited Tomasso's on a Monday night and it was busy as usual. The new addition is beautiful and spacious. Can't wait for nice weather so I can try the patio by the river. There were 5 of us at the table. 3 choose the same meal. The focaccia bread was delicious as usual, so different than any thing that I would consider focaccia. We also had a greek salad (odd in an italian restaurant) and calamari to share before our meals. The scallops and asparagus pasta which 3 of us chose was okay - breaded scallops when I expected seared and frozen overcooked asparagus which is odd as it's in season right now. Too large of a portion for most people and they didn't serve it in a small size and it could have been hotter in temperature. The other person chose seafood fettuccine which he said was good, but the shrimps were rubbery. The best choice that night was the mediterranean pizza which was hot with a crispy crust and delicious ingredients. We skipped coffee and dessert. We did have an issue with the bill. We were charged for whole wheat pasta which 2 of us would have ordered anyways, but all 4 had to order it as they had run out of regular fettuccine. The server wouldn't amend the bill so unfortunately her tip reflected this. It is a pretty restaurant, always busy, but I wouldn't say that it is authentic italian if that is what you are craving. They do make an excellent pizza.
