“Great food at a reasonable price”
Reviewed March 20, 2013

Everything here tastes great. Probably my most frequently visited restaurant in K/W. Everything on the menu tastes great and the prices are quite reasonable. Great guys behind the counter!

“avoid it at all cost”
Reviewed March 1, 2013

I'm being generous by giving it a one star even. The food was not worth the price. The guy at the front was rude everytime I went to order. They increased the price twice in the past few months... I would instead eat at McDonald's everyday and get fat than going to this restaurant.

“Bangladeshi at its BEST”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

Our son frequented Kismet during his University days. He introduced us and the rest of the family has fallen deeply madly in love with the food! Yes the atmosphere is basic, almost cafeteria like. And the owners can be somewhat hard on customers who annoy them! Maybe they are just tired of the job. But they work hard to keep the place clean, affordable and super delicious. The difference is it is a family not a chain restaurant. If you do not like the atmosphere get take out and GO HOME! It beats all the other local curry houses for flavour and freshness!

“Reasons to avoid kismet”
Reviewed February 13, 2013

I have never written a negative review in my life because I never felt the need to. But kismet overruled this, Following are the reasons you should avoid Kismet in Universiry Plaza at all costs;

-the food is EXTREMELY costly for the quality. Ex. Rice with chick peas = $9 (you can make it at home without any effort)

-the guy working 24/7 at the reception (he's perhaps the owner) is very rude and racist. Though he's earning his money by selling brown food but has no sense of respect for the people of that region. He much rather belongs to a McDonalds, nothing more.

-No ambiance

-There's plenty other options available in the plaza with the worse still being far better than kismet.

Having said this, if you have no sense of authentic Bengali food then you should definitely check it out. Most people would agree after their first experience, No wonder they are losing business.

“Good food, no ambience”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

As you might guess by the location, this is a student-oriented restaurant. They do a big take-out business, but there are several tables for dining in. The menu on the menu board behind the counter is a little different from the printed menu and the one on their website. Order at the counter and they bring the food to your table.

The food is good -- decent quality and prepared well. Skip the Sheek kabob; not that it's bad, but everything else is better.

The restaurant is in a strip mall on University Av, but the easiest entrance is off Phillip St.
