“Good atmosphere”
Reviewed April 21, 2014 via mobile

I tried a new beer, there is so many different beers to pick from. I would love to have tried them all but then I wouldn't remember what each beer taste like. I will come back for more. I had the Caesar salad which was well dressed and the French fries which were very good also. The bathrooms were nice and clean, as was the kitchen for what I saw. I love the atmosphere here. I was expecting annoying loud music but it was at a decent level, I'm 45 yrs old and don't like that loudness anymore. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The prices on their main menu were quite pricey, that is why I stuck to salad and fries.

“Happening restaurant but very noisy”
Reviewed March 28, 2014

Waterloo has long needed a spot like this, Great location, OK food, lots of atmosphere and activity. The patio is nice with good views of downtown but could be bigger. Menu is pricey, including beer, but lots on tap. The cool factor is amped up with tables that have your very own beer tap. And the huge TV is great for watching hockey. Only downside, other than beer being overpriced, is the noise. This is a very noisy restaurant.....not sure why....but noise bounces off the walls and ceiling to the point where having a convo with tablemates is nearly impossible without shouting.

“A cross between TGIF Fridays and a pub”
Reviewed March 26, 2014 via mobile

I was tired and hungry looking for a late lunch at 3 pm and they did not disappoint. Go for the fish and chips and their Stiegl a Lager from Salzburg, Austria.

“Go for the beer, not for the food”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

I've been to Beertown a total of two times and both times the meals were disappointing. Last night I ordered a hamburger and received a dry, over-seasoned piece of charcoal that they tried to pass off as a hamburger patty. To add insult to injury, the sweet potato fries were over-seasoned and burnt. Definitely not worth the 15 dollars that I paid for it. On the other hand, they have a large selection of beer at semi-competitive prices which is good if you want to enjoy a pint of a beer on tap that you won't find at other restaurants.

“Uptown Waterloo Favourite!”
Reviewed March 7, 2014

If you are in Uptown! Try Beertown! Beertown is one of the Charcoal Group's restaurants. You can't go wrong with one of their eateries! Tried the fish and chips; but all time favourite are the Lettuce Wraps (Appetizer)...use to love these at the Whistling Oyster in Toronto! So glad they are now available locally!
