“All Aboard!”

The Waterloo Central Railway is an excellent way of seeing and experiencing Waterloo County without a car. We have made this an annual event with our grandchildren during the summer. We enjoy the older cars, the slow rocking pace, and the chance to start in Waterloo and see the growing technology companies to a stop at The St. Jacobs Market where we disembark for an hour to see the animals, buy some vegetables and fruit before embarking again for a leisurly ride through the Old Order Mennonite farmland. The circuit stops in the town of St. Jacobs where riders can disembark again and tour the town before rejoining to return to Waterloo. We have also taken my 90 year old father on this trip and he enjoyed it immensely as well.

“We enjoyed and it met our expecations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2011

If you are expecting Euro rail experience then you will be disappointed. Volunteers...they love what they were doing. They love to talk to children and We were given a very nice history of train and tour was great. Kids loved whenver train crossed roads and excited to wave at the waiting cars.
Again two thumbs up to volunteers and keep the train rocking!

“Great way to get to the market”

I just recently took my 3 year old niece on the train to st. Jacob market. She loved it and so did I! Not have to battle for parking, friendly volunteers, and, let's be honest, I just Love trains!
