My husband and I had dinner at Swing last week. We have eaten there before, but we tend to forget about it. Perhaps because in the winter once does not think about golf courses. However, this is a gem of a restaurant, that provides a nice setting for dinner, overlooking the golf course. In the summer, dinner on the patio is wonderful, and in the winter, dinner inside is simply delicious. My husband had a large pear salad and I had butternut squash ravioli, both amazing! Good wine selection and excellent service as well.

I am fortunate enough to find myself in the golf course community nestled behind the Country club which has the Swing restaurant. There have been many events held here and the setting feels almost like home. I love looking over the pond and watching the Canada Geese and ducks floating on the water. The rippling water reflects the sun and the deep green grass looks like soft moss. A wonderful meeting place for friends. The place is always busy with golfers - carts everywhere , even on the coldest and dullest days. Not to say that the restaurant is busy, because I've been there when it's not. Everyone is outside enjoying their sport. Now when it come to food..........I've had the good and the not so good. The menu does not usually offer a lot and if you want to frequent the place, it may be a bit disappointing. The servers are anxious to please and do their best. The tables are far apart enough to enjoy a private conversation. Buying a bottle of wine, will not put you in the poor house. I'm looking forward to more variety in the menu. The hamburger is a solid mass and could use a little extra loving in preparation. It's not alway important to have pure beef if its dry and difficult to digest. The cobbler salad was very good the last time I had it. I have never tried the pizzas. I heard a few disappointed patrons complain about the weekend buffet breakfast so I haven't tried it. The quality of beef used in previous buffet's did not impress me. However, the salads were great. The desserts were nice as well - your typical bakery small squares, mousse, cheesecake, chocolate flavoured. I'f you'd like to stop in and meet up with friends for a pint, well that's good too! However, if you plan on any more drinking you'd better buy a place here so that you can walk home! That's the advantage of living on the golf course! I would spice up the menu a bit even though pulled pork has been added. I'm not sure if its still available. I would be happy to bring more family and friends here for an evening, but I have to be enticed. Maybe someone will get creative. The Chef should take another look at the cookbooks and get some ideals other than pasta with heavy cream sauce. Yummy but scarey! I really want this place to succeed, because it's such a convenient place to dine. Looking forward to improvement. Your loving neighbour
