“Good food and good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

This restaurant is a nice place for reasonably priced good food, such as a variety of pastas and also a variety of mussels plates. It also features a day's menu. What's nice is that we bring our own wine, enabling for a good wine at the best price possible !

“Save your money and go somewhere else... as fast as you can!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 10, 2012

I've been there a couple of times and it was average, but for the price, it was still okay. The last time tho, it was horrible: bad service, cold plate, absolutely no taste, weird atmosphere (kind of like a cafeteria). Even if it's not that expensive, just save your money and go somewhere better.

“Average ...”

Nice decor but food is just average.
Very crowded on the week-end, sitting are very close to each other.
Must try the mussels.

“Above average to very good dining at very low price-with BYO wine!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2011

the dining experience was very good. I have eaten here twice. Once with my wife for date night and another with 10 of her family.

I read a previous review from an anglophone (as am I) and it is true that most of the wait staff are francophone (even the Chinese server, and I am Chinese). If you can speak French, I think you would get better service. We spoke in french with them, and the odd English words, and the server tried to speak some English at times. By far anywhere in Quebec the dining experience would be better if the server was comfortable. That would be true in any country around the world I would think. The date night I had with my wife, the server was perfectly bilingual, so it is hit or miss. I have never found the wait staff to be anything but polite though. They were good-very good in that category.

The atmosphere is below fine dining, but above casual restaurant. The restaurant is HUGE and if it was full, it could have a bit of a cafeteria feel, I could see. Full lights on, the ambience would be less for romantic dining but good for a group of people to coming for dinner. Everyone brought their own wine - a big selling point for the vinophiles, less for us who don't drink alcohol.

The mussels/fries - excellent value and was very good. For $12, it was amazing. The portion was very large. Excellent fries. The pastas were good and I had steak. The steak was ordered medium, but came out blue (not even rare), and this was immediately brought back after the server asked me how it was, and they brought out a brand new steak. Great - that's how it should be, no questions asked.

Overall, our dining experience was above average to very good. You can bring kids here to eat without problem, and it's good for family dining. For a date night however, it's OK, but there are other places for romantic ambience. Would be good for a rowdy celebration though.

Enjoy.
