The location was perfect if you come to brossard to get your Asian groceries at Kim Phat next door, so we gave it a try. The restaurant was spacious, and simple with a modern twist.
Service was nice, fast and prices goods.
BUT...We ordered a Pho, 5 mn later the pho arrived with a small plate of soya bean sprouts and a thin branch of Asian basil ( no other Vietnamese herbs like a good Viet resto would offer), when I tasted the soupe was plain, no taste, no smell of the pho spices at all. After a few tries, I gave up it was like eating hot water with a bit of salt and noodles. I don't understand, how you can mess up the soup so badly! Even with the pho cube brouillon, you get more taste!! And the viet iced coffee tasted if it had been made from cigarettes butts.
It was such a dissapointing experience and a waste of money. Didn't eat and dring anything!!!
If you know what real Vietnamese food taste like, I would recommend you to stay away from Sao Sao.

I went to this restaurant recently and have to say that the service was one of the better places I've been to. Or maybe I got a good waiter by chance.

The food here is ok, a bit tailored to the south shore taste buds, where there's everything but nothing tasted wow.

We had grilled beef/chicken and rolls, 3 color drink plus a beef soup that had everything. It wasn't bad, but there's tx on top of the food prices listed where if you go to usual fair down at China town or cote-des-neige, the prices usually includes txes. So this makes sao sao a bit more pricier.

Over all I would go back since I live near by and I'm too lazy to cook all the time.

A simple menu covers all the basics of Vietnamese fare.
The Tonkinese soup comes in enough variations that you can have authentic ingredients (tripe) if you like, but you don't have to.
The Imperial rolls are either boiling hot or lukewarm - they could be better.
Service is friendly.

This place opened in the summer of 2009. There actually were lineups outside during the peak hours of supper. They were running out of food at the beginning because they didn't expect to be so popular, so fast !!The food here is amazing !! Real traditional vietnamese, there are the usual chicken and beef plates with rice. They have amazing tokinese soups with anything you want.Try the ¨Three color bean drink¨ it's a delicious capper to any meal. Don't miss the opportunity if you're in Brossard or even in MTL nearby it's two minutes off from the champlain bridge...enjoy ! If you want a sneek peak, there is the website www.restosaosao.com
