Description: Avocado Sushi du Village is a restaurant located in the heart of the Pointe-Claire village. They serve traditional and fusion sushis and tartars in their bistro, offer take out service and cater for events. The two owners, Dominique St-Laurent and Sylvie Longtin, are long-time friends that dreamed of opening their own business on the lakeshore in Pointe-Claire. Two years ago, Sylvie Longtin, then a sushi chef at Willows, leaves Hudson and together, they set out to create their own restaurant. With its cozy atmosphere and its delicious and innovative cuisine, Avocado rapidly charmed the local population. Many locals have made this friendly little bistro their local eat, enjoying the stunning creations of their sushi chefs. Their Martini and Sushi event on Thursday nights have become extremely popular and reservations are now required if you want to secure a table and enjoy the festive atmosphere! "I am extremely thankful for the quality of staff that we have" commented the owners. ' It would have been impossible for this project to be successful without the customer service and quality of food that is offered...And that is 100% the staff. Sylvie's sushi is simply...Magical, but add to that the knowledge and service that Charlie, Cathy, Chantal, Danielle Sandra and Tess bring to the table. We have a winning team and we are very proud to be part of it!!"

I went for lunch and I was a bit deceived by their lunch special at 25$ served with a miso soup, the special was a mixture of scallops, salmon and shrimps with a spicy sauce. I like spicy food, but this was a bit too spicy for a whole serving. It was well presented in a martini glass, with a nice big green salad in a big bowl. This special came also with the tea. To be honest, for 25$... I think I should have tried their other sushis. I saw people around us ordering nice plates... next time I will try that.
They have a large list of different sushis you can order.
The restaurant is small but cute inside. The service was very polite and friendly. I will go back. If you go by car, you can park near the restaurant on the streets nearby. The restaurant is situated next to Le Panier store.

The restaurant itself is cute, but very small and busy. The service is just ok, they constantly seem overwhelmed. The sushi is actually bad, the rice is overly sticky and has a particular taste (not a good taste...). This place would never survive downtown, but gets away with it due to its location.

Your priority at Avocado is to make a reservation. If it is busy and you do not have one, be prepared to wait a while.

At the time of our visit service was very slow with a few tables emptied, but not cleared. Suppose the staff were too overwhelmed with serving than clearing tables foe new customers.

The food is fresh and they do serve alcohol. Sushi selection is different than what I have been exposed to, but the freshness of their plates is what counts. Tea, coffee are extras with the lunch menu and their 8 piece sushi platter comes with a soup or a a salad.

Do try the avocado tartare, in my opinion it was the best, ans tuna tartar nit far behind; but I am not a sushi connoisseur, so I will recommend you try them. Do make reservations first as simply "walking in" you will wait...a...long...time.

This place is a bit hard to pick out/see if you've never been there. The interior is small and quaint. You should probaably make a reservation due to the limited seating they have available.
