“Very nice man-made lake.”
Reviewed December 15, 2012

The view up there worth the drive. Go there early and hike to rawson lake, take a break and go up sarail ridge and prepare to be amazed!!! Fishing is good in k-lakes with huge bull trout and rawson lake offer great catch and release fishing with abundant western slope cutthroat trout in it.

“Wildlife Safari!”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Okay, the 'safari' is driving your own car beyond Canmore...in HOPES of seeing wildlife! I've now done it twice --last year and again last month--and have been marvelously rewarded by seeing moose both times. I don't think it is the 'Ribbon Creek Trail' at all...(Trip Advisor, are you listening? I wanted to write on an experience that was not 'listed.').

If you are in the town of Canmore, follow the road out of the town centre toward the mountains. You will see signs pointing you towards the Spray Lakes. The road quickly turns to gravel, so it's a bumpy adventure. But you will see spectacular mountains, lakes, and 'moose meadows.' Eventually, you will come out on paved Highway 40, a fabulously beautiful drive, which will connect you to TransCanada 1. Turn left to go back to Canmore and Banff... turn right, and you're about halfway back to Calgary!

It's a long drive, but the mountains are breathtakingl--and the possibility of seeing moose, bears, and elk is always there...
