We stayed for a wedding weekend and Colline and Ron were amazing! My five year old enjoyed the partying and slept in, but I was able to make him some pancake jam sandwiches and all was well. They were very understanding! Breakfast on the deck was grand, too. Definitely a bed and breakfast to keep to on my approved list. :)

We, two couples, stayed here for four nights in June 2013 - at the time of the floods in Calgary/Canmore which severely impacted on the the residents and restricted travel. We couldnt have been "stuck" anywhere better. The accommodation was excellent and includes use of a lovely lounge and a kitchen. Caroline and Ron are super hosts, very helpful and with a wealth of local knowledge. Breakfasts are delicious! Stay here, you will not be disappointed !

This wonderful B&B is located just outside the centre of Canmore, in a quiet residential area. The rooms are very clean and well equipped. Apart from your own room with ensuite bathroom, you are welcome to use a kitchen that is reserved for the guests (you can use the fridge and freezer, heat something up in the microwave, make yourself a cup of coffee/tea...). We have stayed in the Bunk House Room (which faces the streetside, but you can't hear any traffic because there isn't almost any) and we had a very relax and good stay. The room was nice and cool, even on a hot day. Because of the beautiful weather, breakfast was served on the deck from where we could admire the majestic rockies. A choice of breakfast formulae is offered from which you can pick one; I went for the "lighter" version with granola and fruit, my husband chose the pancakes. Both were great. After preparing our breakfast, Colline and Ron joined us for a chat and that was most pleasant. This is a really good place to stay when you want to explore the Canadian Rockies!

We received a very cordial welcome at the Homestead B&B. The place was impeccably clean, and nicely decorated. Our lower level room was quite large, and there was a small kitchenette area on our level. The friendly hosts provided us with everything necessary for our visit to the area and were very knowledgeable about all that the area had to offer. We used several of their suggestions. The three breakfast choices were all good.
The only reason we didn't give Homestead an Excellent rating was that the backyard patio was not consistent with the rest of the place. The guest patio was not well tended and thus not as inviting as it could have been.
Would we stay there again? Absolutely!

This was our second visit to the homestead B&B so you know we must have liked it.The bedroom window view was a panorama of the mountains almost as good as the view up in the dining area.Super hosts who are doing something they enjoy and that cheer is shared with the guests. The quiet room was large and well laid out with a nice en-suite bath. The whole house was spotlessly clean and breakfast was great.

Room Tip: we had the larger of the two rooms with the best view

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay with Colline and Ron. They had designed the B&B accommodation specifically and, as such, was spacious, well planned and very well equipped.

Examples of the thought that they had put into the overall design include a self contained kitchen, separate entrance and additional insulation between the B&B area and their accomodation such that noise from one would not reach the other.

The breakfasts were first class as was their welcome, warmth throughout our stay and their local "value add" about places to eat and visit.

Those aspects plus breakfast overlooking the Rockies, and the possibility of elk in the garden, made the stay in The Homestead a very memorable indeed.

A great stay and one we would return to if in the Canadain Rockies again.

Colline and Ron are excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. We have stayed in many B&Bs all over the world and this rates among the very best. Beautiful patchwork quilts on the beds. A nice extra touch is the guests' kitchen where we could prepare our own lunch and suppers. This is in addition to the fabulous breakfast provided by Colline, along with friendly conversation, in the upstairs breakfast room which has great views. The natural garden was a great place to relax and we saw deer there. We stayed at first for 2 days and then returned for a further 2 after a not-so-good experience at another local B&B. Canmore is a nice alternative to the hustle and bustle of Banff which is only a half hour drive away. We were there for the Highland Games (Labour Day weekend) which we very much enjoyed, especially the massed pipes and drums with hundreds (maybe thousands!) of pipers.
