“Pocaterra Review”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

Very pleased with our room. It was at the end of the hallway, so we did not have people passing by our room. Extra sitting area, with gas fireplace, microwave and mini fridge. Nice extra touches were full length mirror on wall in sleeping area and a bench at the foot of the bed,to sit on when putting on shoes or boots. I love a bright, well lit room and the lighting here was exceptional. I have never seen so many lights in a hotel room. The beds were very comfortable. Also room was very clean. Very nice eating area for the buffet breakfast that is provided from 7am-11am. Good selection for continental breakfast, including eggs and sausages. We would recommend this hotel to other visitors and definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms at the end of the hallways.

2 nights to allow some Christmas shopping and a visit to Lake Louise. Staff was friendly, room was clean and comfortable. Enjoyed the gas fireplace in the room.Hotel has a pool with a water slide. Canmore has some very nice dining and shopping establishments.

The room was delightful. The staff was very accomodating. Complimentary breakfast was about what you would expect for "free" - missed the waffle maker that many other Best Western's have. Unfortunately, "my side" of the bed did not have a night table or lamp, so no bedtime reading for me :(

What a great hotel excellent value. Loved the fire place, although would have liked it better if it had the option to use without heat. The beds were very comfy & linens very clean. A huge washroom that was super clean and well lite. Our only complaint was the WiFi which was very slow but that may have been do to the fact the Hotel was fully booked. We were trying to plan a future trip and couldn't load web pages research other towns and hotel options. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Canmore area.

Pocaterra Inn is very close (30m) to the Trans Canada Highway and 1-2km away from Canmore centre. The hotel makes a very good impression, it looks well run. Helpful service, everything clean and organised. Great spacious rooms with all needed items and more, including a chimney.
Still there are small areas of improvement:
The pool is located in the middle of the hotel at the ground floor so there's chlorine smell in all the lobby/reception. Nothing really bad if you're used to it.
Breakfast room is rather dark, the breakfast itself is rich but no fresh products. I guess I shouldn't complain as I see now that this is is the standard in US/Canada, but still I can't help noticing the difference vs an European breakfast.
Apart from that, Canmore is a great place, with splendid mountain views wherever you look and with lots of scenic attractions nearby, and Pocaterra Inn is definitely a place to stay at when visiting the Canadian Rockies.

Banff left us cold. Too crowded and touristy. But Canmore is a nice little town, and a much better value. We especially enjoyed the drive to Spray Lake and on to Peter Lougheed Wilderness area. The hotel is clean and well run. There is an indoor pool with a huge slide the children will love. Avoid rooms on the first floor, if possible. The morning brunch is free, and an excellent value added. There are views of mountains from both the front and back, but the view is spoiled by the main roads on both sides. A short drive to Banff will save you a bundle.

Room Tip: Avoid the first floor, especially the back where your window will be in a cellar box. We ended up n...
