Found these guys via a Groupon they ran in Spring 2012. Great beginner raft trip for our two kids, 9 and 11. We had just a hoot, Martin was an excellent guide and really went out of his way to make sure we all got wet! Will definitely be back for some bigger white water.

Having white water rafted once previously many years ago, we decided to go for it and take the class 3-4 Kicking Horse trip! We boarded a bus in Canmore and travelled to the kicking horse river to get geared up...It was amazing! So much fun! We had three rafts going down the river, and we were the only raft that managed to keep the wild ride contained! After the first run, hot chocolate and granola bars were provided before we ran the best section again! Then we loaded up and went to Lake Louise where they provided us with a late lunch at the hostel.
Our guide was excellent and provided great instruction and was very knowledgeable of the river and the area.
We paid about $125 each for this trip, and with the travelling to and from the river, it was pretty much a full day experience.
Would definitely recommend the Kicking Horse and this company for your ride!

If you are looking to shorten the bus ride trip, they picked people up in both Banff and Field, and of course we stopped in Lake Louise on the way home, so if you wanted to get some other sight seeing into your day, look into the "meeting up" options!

The bus driver stayed with the bus for the duration of the trip, so leaving personal items was no issue. This company also offered a photo cd for purchase at the completion of your trip.

Note: This run is not for the faint of heart! Being able to swim is a must!!

We wanted to do a whitewater rafting trip as part of our family vacation to Banff, so we chose the Kananaskiss River trip which is class 2/3 rating. We found it very fun and quite suitable for families with young children. The guides positioned the children in between their parents for added safety. We never felt like we were in danger. The Kananaskiss ride is fairly tame for most of the way, but I feel it's a great first time ride for those who have never rafted before. It's much more fun than the float down the river option.
If my daughter wasn't with us, my wife and I would have done the Horseshoe Canyon which is more exciting at grade 3/4 whitewater and is closer in proximity than The Kicking Horse River.

I gave this group 4 stars instead of 5 because I found the employees at the staging area to be unorganized. The time it took the group to prep for the ride (getting wet suits, life jackets, storing your belongings, etc) was way longer than it should have been and we spent about 45 minutes just standing around waiting to leave for the river. The staging crew also were a little rude and seemed somewhat clueless. Once we were on the river rafting, things were perfect, but the preparation phase could be improved quite a bit.

This was my first time white water rafting, me and my girlfriend loved it. We got picked up in banff and went to kicking horse in BC. They explained the emergencie procedures well and had fun with that too, they took us down twice and offered us lunch in lake Louise in a hostel , burgers and fries, which are included in your price. It was a day event and a must in a bucket list

Whilst staying in Banff we decided to go rafting. Every other rafting option had finished because of the low river levels. The only one left was the Kananaskis with CRC.
We took a 25 minute drive out of Canmore. Our guides showed us the equipment and safety procedures and then it was straight into it!
The rafting was fantastic, The weather helped, (it was 29 degrees Celsius). Chad our guide was both knowledgeable and entertaining. The scenery was beautiful and we were so glad we did the trip.
We felt entirely safe throughout the trip although as you can see from the photos there was a little white water!! The kids didn’t paddle which allowed them to hold on with both hands!
CRC took a heap of photos and as promise posted the DVD to us back home within 2 weeks of our trip.
I thoroughly recommend CRC for a fantastic time on the river with the family.
