I can not complain about this campground. With tent and no service it's only 28 dollars. If you want a fire you can get the fire pit permit for 8 dollars. You'll be able to have a fire and the firewood comes with the permit. They even had bear bins for those who have no way of storing their food. The only bad thing was that there is only one shower house open in Oktober. We had to walk over the whole campground to have a shower.

Will not ever stay here again. Stayed here for the weekend of a race. Campground is in a ditch between the visitor centre and McDonald's, also is in between railway tracks and trans canada highway. Tent "sites" are very close together and random as it is a walk-in campground. We were beside a site with people who have apparently been there since April- lots of questionable-looking people coming and going out of that site, living room furniture sitting in the site and loitering and drinking by the washrooms. Both nights we slept very poorly- one night the police brought an individual back from that site and he swore and carried on for hours only feet away from us before finally going to sleep in his truck (which was covered with a tarp?!). When we complained, the operators were not surprised and indicated it was not the first time the people in that site were disruptive. We met a couple from Iowa who told us the previous evening the same people were up until 5 a.m. partying and harassing other campers. My boyfriend and I never felt comfortable there and did not feel ok with leaving anything in our tent, including clothing. The showers take tokens that are for purchase during the hours the hosts are actually there. I raced in the morning and had to wait until 6 pm to shower as that is the time the office is open for tokens. If you are a light sleeper, the train is very loud, but we anticipated that. We will never stay at this campground, no one seems to care about the place. Also we were not impressed with the operators not being that surprised about people from one site causing issues for us and others, and not seeming at all motivated to remedy the situation when we complained, even when we said we did not feel safe.

We read the reviews before going and really you get what you get and don't get upset. We pre-booked our site as there was no space in the National Park.
Our site was right by the freeway but after the first night you really do not hear it.
this is the perfect campground if you are driving through and need a place to stay for the night or for what we did - we parked our trailer, set up camp and essentially treated it as a hotel room.
We knew that we were not there for the campground ambiance and experience but it was place to park, go back to after a day of adventuring and was located in such a place that we could go back mid-day for lunch or a nap before continuing on with our plans.
Showers were expensive yes and you need to buy a token - I bought 10 on the first day when I saw the office was open (based on previous reviews). they lasted us the week.
there were some long-term campers who clearly lived there - they were mostly in the tent area. We had one fellow next to us and he was working on the road crews so we quiet and only home in the evenings.
would we stay there again? Likely if we were in the same situation

Room Tip: pre-book - then while you are beside the freeway you tend to have less people coming in and out

The check in process for tent sites is hella confusing. Why they don't have someone there during the check in process seems silly to me, they arrived after 6pm at which point you have to hope you're set up in the right spot! Noise is a bit of an issue if you're at one of the back sites (trains and cars are close).
