“Nice hotel with beautiful view!”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This is a nice hotel with views of the mountains. The room was clean and quiet. We stayed two nights and each night a tour bus came in just before dark and left around seven each morning. Even though the hotel was full, it was very quiet. The one draw back that this hotel has that there was no place to get food except the vending machines. When reading about the hotel, it says it has a restaurant. However, the restaurant was closed and they did not bother to tell you before you arrived and did not personally apologize. They had a notice posted on the desk and in the room. They did not provide anything for breakfast to compensate for this! There are not fast foods or restaurants around the hotel. This was a turn off and management should do something about it. My understanding is that the last restaurant manager left. There was not a problem with equipment as the note suggested. You would think that they would have at least provided some sort of pastries for their guests breakfast as a compensation for not having anywhere to purchase food. The rooms were clean. Only complaint was the way they handled the restaurant situation.

Room Tip: Check to see if restaurant is open before you go - otherwise, bring your food!

We chose the Holiday Inn Canmore as we wanted to use our Priority Club points. The hotel is very easy to find as it is right off the Trans Canadian Highway 1. There is nothing within walking distance so you must drive to everything, including the town center.

The rooms are very modern and comfortable. There is also a microwave and fridge, which was convenient for us. The beds was great and it had a spacious bathroom. The Staff was very friendly and accomodating.

The only negative was the restaurant was not open when we were there.

If we returned to the area, we would probably stay next time in Banff as there is much more going on there.

Awesome stay. We stopped here on our way through to BC. Great staff, rooms were good. View from the room was fantastic. Right off the highway, which is convenient. Beautiful look outside and inside of the hotel. Couple of downfalls, but not deal breakers- one being breakfast not starting until later in the AM, 8 I believe. And for those on a road trip, that's a little too late to start when you have a long drive, but a Tim Hortons wasn't far so we used it. I'd stay again!

We saw this Hotel on our way past en route to Calgary, so on our return we booked a night there. The suite we we were given had the highest ceiling (20') of any room I have ever stayed in, with panoramic views of the mountains. The staff were very polite and friendly, and we had an interesting time there, even though it was brief. I would prefer it to staying in Banff I think. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of commission during our stay.

Room Tip: A room with a high ceiling is worthwhile.

Me and my fiancee stayed here for 2 days, and I can say that this is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in. The room is so clean and spacious. Staff members are very hospitable and friendly. Plus, location is so peaceful, and the scenery around the hotel is just fantastic. I will surely comeback to this hotel again.

The available rooms at this property go beyond the normal cookie cutter Holiday Inn rooms, with loft rooms and executive suites available that are very nice.

The hotel is a good alternative to staying in Banff, with better value and good amenities.

In two stays at this property they were very good about recognizing and upgrading for IHG plat status which was much appreciated.

The only downside to this stay was that the hotel restaurant was closed for renovations (although no work was being done for the several days we were there) and I don't think I was informed of this when booking. There is no other eating establishment in the area so this could be important to some.

My husband and I won the "Family Adventure Package" and stayed at the Canmore Holiday Inn for 3 nights at the end of July 2013 for our anniversary. We were put in a spacious and clean King room with spa. We enjoyed the mountain views and the jacuzzi was a great way to relax at the end of each day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. We enjoyed relaxing and watching in room movies that are new and still showing in theatres. We used the $300 adventure credit to go ATV'ing in Panorama and it was a phenomenal experience. Toby Creek had knowledgeable guides, the views were spectacular and they BBQ'd burgers for us at the top of a mountain by a trappers cabin. Lastly, the night we were going to use our voucher for a pizza party the hotel restaurant was closed but the staff accommodated and allowed us to choose a local pizza place to order from instead. In a nutshell, the package would be a great choice for couples or families who are looking to get away, relax and have fun!
