Good points. . . .nice kitchen and furniture
Bad points . . . . service, price, poor lighting (almost cave like!), working facilities, still a work in progress

We managed to get a 25% discount as we complained, in honesty that was probably not enough and we should have left and stayed elsewhere. We had high expectations from the glossy web-site and adverts as this was our last stop on our honeymoon.

TVs in the bedrooms did not work, BBQ outside with lead and plug left out not under cover, no patio furniture although we would not have used anyway as the patio was not private to the next suite and had steps down to the main street (very public in fact) We stayed in Chinook Lodge suite 103, avoid like the plague! We asked to move and was told no other suites were clean? We asked to move to another Bellstar resort and was told they would be worse?!?

It is a shame as with more development and a change in management's opinion on the level of customer service to provide, it could be quite nice place although really aimed at condo second home owners not tourist/ one off stays

We won a free weekend in a 1 or 2 bedroom suite at this resort and were excited to give it a try. I booked for a 1 bedroom, but they gave us a 2 bedroom anyways! the suite was HUGE and absolutly gorgeous. Marble countertops, amazing appliances and a ridiculous amount of televisions. the balcony was giant and we were clearly the first people to ever use the brand new BBQ.

I could write poetry about the shower with the 4 different kinds of jets.

The staff member at check in was very polite and helpful if a tad slow, but he did note that it was his first day. We were out for a romantic weekend so we had the 'do not disturb' signs on our doors and were not bothered at all. The place was clean, and the bed was very comfy.

Our only regret is that we didn't make this more of a party weekend with more people since we had so much space!

This was a great hotel,

Our room was amazing, and priced right for our trip. We loved having the kitchen and the BBQ on the deck was a real surprise. So it saved us from spending too much money in restaurants. Staff were really friendly and knowledgable. What can I say I work in the hospitality industry and am happy that we chose Solera as our place to stay on our first anniversay.

We stayed here for 2 nights Sep 9-11, 2 adults and 1 dog. We booked a pet friendly 1 bedroom suite. We got to the hotel a little before the check in at 4pm and there was no problem. The 2 people working the front desk were very friendly and polite. Our suite was located in the Auroa building on the 3rd floor. So after you park in the underground parking in the section for your building, there are elevators you can take to your suite. Some reviews complained about the elevators being slow but I thought they were fine! Sure they were a little slow the morning of checkout but that's because everyone was trying to get on it at once from different floors. There are stairs you can take up and down if you don't want to wait. Our suite was beautiful; 1 bedroom with fireplace,TV and king sized bed, 1 bathroom with a spa shower (my favorite to date), a living room with another fireplace & TV, fully stocked kitchen (no food of course), a balcony with a BBQ and table and 4 chairs, and a washer and dryer too! The room was very large for the 3 of us and there was a lot of room. The bedroom had doors to the patio so it was nice to be able to access it from the bedroom and living room. The kitchen has all the cooking materials you will need. The fridge is very large and there is a ice maker in the freezer. There was also a wine cooler. The kitchen table is set for 4 people but you could easily fit more. There is still some construction going on at the hotel but we knew that before we went. People seemed to complain about this but you should research your hotel before you book it!! Also, housekeeping comes every 4 days, which is also something you should know before you go. We didn't need it only staying for 2 nights but some people do. There are many restaurants in Canmore you can eat at if you need to. This hotel is in a great location with many walking trails around! We would stay again for sure! Don't listen to the negative reviews, some people are way too picky!

If I could give any recommendations for the hotel, I would suggest putting a dish in the bathroom for the bars of soap. There is no where besides the shower to put them so we just used a mini plate next to the sink! And maybe a little fire pit outside where the BBQ's are (if allowed.

We had our 30 year nursing reunion in Canmore this weekend. 5 of us rented a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo at the Solara, what a beautiful place. So nice to have all the bathrooms and space to gather. Great facilities and close to everything.

We went for 1 week and had 7 units amongst the family. Property is well located and very new and nice. Place is very understaffed and has poor service.

The check-in person said she was a part-time worker and was not very knowledgeable. We had a van full of people and suitcases and said we would have to park and carry all 30 of our suitcases up 35 stairs. There was no one available to help us. We asked if there was a closer way and she replied no. We found the next day we could parked on the other side of the building and just take the elevators.

Some rooms were not available until after 6 PM. Two rooms had non-functioning AC units and we had to move rooms in the middle of our stay.

We were given a broken pack and play for child and had to get another one.

Elevators broke on multiple occasions. Housekeeping and front desk often did not answer.

The property itself is quite nice with huge rooms with amazing amenities. There was plenty of parking. very good location.

The manager, Rusty, was very helpful and did his best to make up for the shortcomings.

We have stayed at teh Dolara resort previously and were very happy with it, however this time our apartment left a lot to be desired. At check in we had to have housekeeping come and re-clean the floors and countertops but over the time there it became clear that the whole property was not very clean. We also had quite a few defective pieces in the property and I felt the place was not very safe for my two small children. We did raise our concerns with staff who were very helpful and tried to accomodate our requests but overall this trip was not worth the money!
