Myself and granddaughter stayed at Ambleside lodge, a and found it very clean, comfortable and cosy. Would definitely consider staying there again, if ever in the area . Sue and Dave were great hosts and made everything so easy for us.
Canmore is a very pretty town, great views. We loved every moment. Thank you Sue and Dave could not find fault at all.

Room Tip: If you want comfort, cleanliness and such good service, choose Ambleside lodge

We stayed at Ambleside Lodge for 3 nights in late June. Canmore is a nice town with good restaurants and within easy walking distance of the BB . Breakfasts were fine as was the help on excursions from Dave.
However we did have some problems.
Our room the wilderness room was very small with no windows that opened and the only ventilation was from the bathroom. The room is also over the lounge and the TV kept us awake each night,
There had been alot of rain before we arrived and the river was very high, the BB has a sump pump in the basement which on one night ran every 5 minutes. It was so noisy at 1 am we got up and moved to an empty room at the front of the house. The noise seemed to track up through our room and the move was an improvement. The next day we moved to the CPR room which is larger has a window that opens and was quieter. if you intend to stay here i would suggest you ask for the CPR room.

At Ambleside Lodge everything fits perfect:
very nice and cozy accommodation and with such nice hosts like Sue and Dave you really feel at home, like staying with your friends or family. Every day started with a very delicious breakfast (the scones, yummy), with fresh fruit, juice, hot meals, so great - thanks to Sue. Dave gave us very useful and detailed informations about places of excursions (for us in German) and it was fun to report at the evening about the completion of our "day's mission".
Canmore is a good place to stay for visiting the Banff National Park, because all places can be reached with short driving distances. Canmore is a nice town with small shops and good restaurants. From Ambleside Lodge the town centre can be reached within short walking distance.

This was a great place to stay at the start of our holiday with Sue & Dave happy to give us advice about walking routes, weather forecasts etc. Dave is a fantastic source of walking knowledge, and with experience of mountain rescue in the UK is fascinating to talk to. His current experience as a hill walking guide helped us to understand the local area before setting out. Canmore is a lovely area and much quieter than Banff.

I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed staying with Sue and Dave. A Bed and Breakfast that will make you feel as though you are staying with family - the advise on local companies to use and places to visit alone was invaluable. Both rooms used were very comfortable, So good we stayed for 4 nights longer than we booked. Best breakfast in Canada - you have to book a night here just to try the breakfast!

My wife and I had our first trip to Canada and were fortunate to pick the most friendly and knowla-dgeable hosts possible. Sue and David made us feel as if we were at home. We stayed in the CPR room and were really impressed with the comfort and decor. Sue makes a fantastic breakfast that sets you up for your days adventures, and makes muffins for you to take out as an added bonus. David took time to set out routes for us so we could take in so many of the places we would have missed if we had just followed our own ideas of where to go. This made the holiday extra special. So much so we are going back to stay there again as we were made so welcome.

This is a delightful B&B with all the comfort of a home away from home. The residence is a short walk to the the picturescue town of Canmore at the foot of the Rocky mountains. This B&B is beautifully appointed witha strong focus on the local heritage and the mountains. We had a very comfortable room with ensuite and the bed and pillows were a welcome treat to us tired travellers. Sue and David are the hosts of this lovely establishment and together provide excellent personal service and great local knowledge tips for those exploring the mountain attractions. Sue and David provide a wonderful freshly baked breakfast that will be long remembered as part of the experience. They sent us off each day with a full written itinerary of local attractions and a lunch treat of baked muffins from morning breakfast. Take full advantage of this B& B and book three nights at least, to fully enjoy this location. Great value for money and I will recommending Ambleside Lodge to all my friends travelling this way from Australia. As a closure, I would be remiss in not mentioning David's assistance after arriving in the evening at the location with a punctured tire on our hire car. Before we had even got out of bed the next morning,David had inflated the flat tire with a hand pump to asist us in getting to a local tyre repair center who did not charge us for the repair.Wonderful assistance and great service. Thank you again for a lovely stay. Oh, did I mention the eggs Benedict for breakfast, you will just have to see how good these are for yourself.
