With family in town again from the East Coast we decided to venture to Habitat Restaurant for dinner - what a treat! We were amazed that the prices included an appetizer, main course and dessert.... Being the only Celiac at our table of 4 I started with the salad (which was amazing - the dressing has a sweet kick to it), I shared the chateaubriand with my Mom (this was cooked to perfection and the meat was so tender) and for dessert they had a gluten free option!!! The flourless chocolate bomb which is served with an interesting red wine whip cream. Christian, our server, was fantastic!!! The restaurant was very busy but we never felt it - if you have an opportunity to go make sure you ask for one of Christian's tables.

We all truly enjoyed our three course dinners at Habitat. Roberto was our host and he was fun, engaging and intent on making our experience memorable. It was!!!

We were in town for an event and stayed at the Grande Rockies Resort, so it was just easier to stay here to eat.

We were not in the mood for an expensive meal, so we opted for the bar/lounge instead and it suited us just fine.

Service was attentive, server was helpful in recommending wine and beer. Food was quite good - the pulled pork sandwich was better than the lamb burger. Yam fries were terrific and normal fries were really good.

Prices were very reasonable. While Canmore has some excellent high-end restaurants, a number of fast food joints and some bars, I have always found it a challenge to find something good that's in between all these. Habitat lounge fit that bill very well.

We'd go back for sure.

Party of five for a work dinner. All meals are three course and a very creative menu. I shared the Chateaubriand, started with the Caesar salad and finished with the chocolate desert. It was all excellent. Everyone was very happy with their choices and the service was excellent. Only negative was the awkward booth we were sitting in. It was crowded and hard to converse.
Best part of the evening was the bill! Restaurant is relatively expensive but we knew this going in. Turns out that Thursdays are half priced!! This made an incredibly good meal and an even better deal! I will be back...probably on a Thursday.

We went to Habitat last Saturday after not being able to get a reservation at some other highly recommended restaurants in Canmore. We eat out a lot and to our surprise this was one of the BEST meals we have had. It was a set menu and we couldn't believe that the prices included an appetizer and dessert. This would be the price we would expect from a single main dish at any other casual/fine dining restaurant. As each course arrived we were continually wowed by the flavour and portion sizes. Yumm... The wine list also had something for everyone at every price point. Our server was very courteous and accommodating and he seemed to genuinely care about our experience. While we were one of the last tables left in the restaurant he didn't rush us out as some others do so thanks for making us feel welcome. Our favourites would probably be the deconstructed Pork Cheek Ravioli and the Alberta Game Changer (Elk Osso Bucco) although it all looked delicious. We will definitely be back and have already recommended you to family and friends. See you on our next trip to Canmore!
