That was the first word we both shouted when we entered our room! What a nice and big suite! Modern decoration, and a lot of high tech! You could even manage the sound system in your bedroom and bathroom. Everything was just perfect, only our kitchen utensils could be replaced our better cleaned. For this kind of money it is worth the extra km to stay in Canmore instead of Banff itself.

I am not at all as enthusiastic as most other reviewers about this hotel and my gripes have to do mostly with the interior design of the suite. I have rarely seen such an awkward place to live in : although it is a suite there is no table where you can eat, just a bar. The kitchen and the appliances take up an awful lot of room and there is a huge empty space right in the middle. There is no place to put and open your suitcases and no safe. Little light comes in (we were on the ground floor) and the lighting system does not provide much lighting. Moreover the furniture is dark. The gas fireplace is a joke : it does not heat ! And the number of buttons on the sound system remote is just amazing :-) Unusuable for a normal person.
Apart from this the staff is very friendly, everything works ok, the free heated parking is a plus and the spa is good.
Why didn't they hire a decent interior designer ?

Room Tip: Avoid the ground level rooms facing the highway

Pros - free, heated underground parking, lovely hot tubs in a beautiful setting, provided towels for use at the hot tubs at front desk when requested, comfortable beds, easy check-in,close to amenities, view of mountains

Cons - couldn't adjust temperature of room in the unit, no air conditioning and leaving window open all night was noisy, room next door occupied on our 2nd night, even though building seemed l/2 empty and we could hear them talk, etc .at night & in the morning,TV had channels programmed in but they weren't available to view, could hear trains, bathtub faucet was in the ceiling and extremely noisy to fill, it was a deep tub that took a long time to fill and was difficult to get in and out of, Ihome clock radio time couldn't be set to correct time, Bodhi spa was closed at 6 pm. Friday night instead of the 7 pm. posted time so we couldn't buy products until the next day, Sauna indefinitely unavailable for use

Considering this is a 3 yr. old property the unit showed a lot of wear and tear.

Room Tip: ask for a top floor room with a balcony

Dear Tiffany Alberta,
Thank you for your feedback. We are always glad to have accurate feedback as we are striving to please all our loyal patrons. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay.

We apologize that you had difficulty adjusting the temperature in your room. There are two thermostats (one in the bathroom and one in the main room) and a central Air Conditioner in each suite. The Air Conditioner will only fully kick in when the outside temperature is 10 degrees or below. There are fans available at the front desk in the event it is above 10 degrees.

Unfortunately the Bohdi Tree Spa is privately owned and we do not have control over the times they open and close. We will pass the message on in order to ensure that guests in the future do not experience this same disappointment.

We invite you to please stay again at The Silver Creek Lodge and we will have a front desk agent instruct you how to utilize our thermostats and air conditioning. Hopefully with the fan and thermostats working correctly you will have a quiet restful sleep and a great second stay!

My husband, 16 month old son and I spent three nights at Silvercreek after reading some great reviews on tripadvisor. We liked the idea of having a separate bedroom, as our son goes to bed at 7pm. The separate bedroom gave us the freedom to not have to tippytoe around once he was asleep. The full kitchen was fabulous. All the appliances were top of the line and clean and the granite countertops were a nice feature. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Having our own kitchen not only saved us money but gave us the option of having nice, relaxed meals on our schedule without worrying about a fussy toddler in a restaurant. We had read on tripadvisor about the lack of housecleaning services. Not a problem for us at all. We asked about it and it was explained the lodge runs like condos where you LIVE for several days so housecleaning isn't provided until the 4th day. But there is a room to take your garbage and recycling if you need and they do provide extra laundry and dish soap, garbage bags or toilet paper if needed. The staff was friendly and helpful. The giant deep tub was also wondeful. And the three outdoor hottubs were clean and lovely. We would very very highly recommend Silver Creek to absolutely anyone from a family to a girls weekend away or anything else. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will absolutely go back!!

My husband and I stayed at the Silver Creek Lodge for two nights during the September long weekend. The place is absolutely beautiful and the three outdoor hot tubs were a real treat as can see the mountains from at least one of them.

Our room was on the second floor facing the highway and beside the ice maker, which I initially thought would be huge issues. However, you couldn't even hear the ice machine and the only sounds of traffic, which wasn't that bad, were mainly around 8 am. The suite is beautiful, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked. Just don't use the washer or dryer later at night as it is noisy. If you have mobility issues or a disability you may have issues with getting in and out of the shower as the sides of the tub are high and it is slightly slippery.

I wished we could have stayed longer and we'll definitely be back as this place is a gem.

We didn't want just a regular hotel room during our visit to Banff. So we found this unit through homeaway.com. What a great find. The condo unit was fantastic. Extremely clean one bedroom unit. Full kitchen with everything you need. Showers were fantastic. Beds comfortable.

The location was great. Close to the grocery stores. Short trip to banff and all the hiking trails nearby.

We totally loved the condo. Would much rather do this again instead of a plain hotel room that is
smaller, more expensive, and without any amenities. We would even stay here over the fairmont banff springs. Call us crazy but we like it.

Check it out.

We have stayed several times at the Silver Creek Lodge in the past two years. The apartment units are very well equipped and also have amazing bathrooms (very spacious with both a shower & waterfall bathtubs). All the units we've stayed in had nice balconies with a view of the mountains. The kitchen is excellent with a great deal of dishes & small appliances (note: coffee & tea is provided but there are no condiments, so you'll need to bring your own salt & pepper & sauces, etc). The living room is very nice (although somewhat small), and the 1 bdrm units also have a small bedroom, while the 2 bdrm units have a larger bedroom and a small bedroom. The restaurant in the hotel (Wild Orchid) serves asian-inspired food and it also has a nice patio with a view of the mountains. The restaurant has a rounded table with a pit fire in the middle- you can ask for some marshmallows to roast!! The hotel also has outdoor jacuzzis and there is a spa where you can book services, as well. We love staying here on weekends and it's a quick 15 min drive to Banff. Great hotel!
