“Beautiful”
Reviewed January 31, 2012

I live in Alberta and have been to the mountains many times but dogsledding was an awesome way to experience the mountain views. Our two year old came with us on the trip and loved every minute of it! He is still talking about the "snow dogs". The guides are very knowledgeable and the dogs clearly love them. The only negative I found was that the company only had one toddler car seat and there were two kids booked on our tour so our toddler had to sit in just a seat belt. Had we been informed we would have brought our own carseat

“Amazing experiencie, professional organization”
Reviewed January 24, 2012

This was a wonderful experience, right from the time (I booked the four hour tour, friendly, professional staff), to the time in the woods with the dogs.

We were driven from the office in Canmore to the mountains, which is where the dogs and the guides were waiting. We had a very interesting orientation to the dogs, the sleds, and the history of dog sledding. Then we were assigned to our guides and sleds. at which time we were encouraged to "meet" the dogs. I think that's what impressed me the most, was how well cared for the dogs seemed to be. The guide I was with knew all the names of the dogs, and wanted us to talk to them and praise them often. It was great.

We stopped for a break halfway through the tour. Hamen (our guide) started a fire, and while we warmed ourselves he prepared smokies, hot apple cider, and bannock with maple syrup fro dessert. Very tasty. The time there was a good rest for the dogs as well. Our guide was friendly, knowledgable, and had a great sense of humor. He also instilled you with confidence in his abilities to deal with the dogs, the sleds, and the tourists! Ha!

They even had a pooper scooper come by after the tour to pick up after the dogs! Very aware of the impact on the environment. I was impressed.

The scenary is outstanding, the service was excellent, the dogs were terrific, and the whole experience was wonderful. I can't say enough about the tour, the guides, the offce staff, and the stars of the trip, which are the dogs. Loved every second of it!!!

“Great experience once in a lifetime as it is expensive”
Reviewed January 21, 2012

We chose driving the dogsleds which was the more expensive option but our group including 4 teenagers and 4 young adults absolutely loved the experience of driving the dogsleds. If you don't feel like driving you can have a guide drive for you or alternatively co-drive with you. The guides are fantastic, supportive, very attentive helping with the driving and always checking the dogs. The dogs are fabulous and the staff genuinely care for their well being and were very informative about the dog's needs and their lives. The track we took was spectacularly beautiful with many photo opportunities. There was a photo taken at the beginning and end of the track which were available for purchase ($30 for the 2). One of our party, a 15 yr old boy, got a bit of altitude sickness as he ran beside the dogs for a lot of his driving...don't push yourself too much. Also make sure you are really well dressed for the cold, thermals, ski gear, googles preferrably ...my feet were cold for hours afterwards..thermal socks would have helped! A truly fabulous experience but at $275 it is expensive.
