“Priceline Discrimination”
Reviewed August 7, 2008

Had been travelling to Seattle with wife and stayed at a number of priceline hotels, all were excellent and great value. On way home we had booked to stay at the Best Western. Arrived 6:00 pm, no person at reception desk for 30 minutes. 6 couples waiting and no apology or excuse. The reception said " Oh, you're the Priceline people" and handed us a key and said your room is next door to the reception area. She didn't ask what type of room we we're looking for, or how many people?
It was a half sized room compared to the others in the complex with 1 queen bed. When we sat down on the bed we lifted the sheets to see if there was a real mattress as it was so hard. At 11:00 pm black smoke started to pour into our room from our ceiling air conditioning vent. We called the desk immediately and they said that they had just burned a bag of popcorn in the lobby microwave and that their vent was connected to our ventilation system. Their solution was to close the ventilation system off for the night in our small room. Enjoy, paid $95 US. Hotel was only 2/3 full that night.

  • Liked — close to Highway
  • Disliked — small dingy room, and bad staffing.

Trying to book a hotel in the lower mainland is Expensive! I was able to book this hotel in Abbotsford through Priceline after many many trys. I was ver dissapointed as this hotel claims to be a 2* and really it is a motel by the freeway with cars going all night long. This is a "hotel" with the "hallways" outside, everyone walking past all night, people starting their cars right outside the window and letting them run for 45 minutes (really!) at 7am.
Location was good, access to freeway was right beside hotel. Starbucks was 1 block away. Old Spahetti Factory nearby.
The room was ok, bedding old, room looked like it had been renovated by someones uncle, jack of all trades.
Won't stay here again.

This hotel is more of a motel type, as the room doors face the parking lot.

The location is good, right off the highway and close to the US border.

Rooms were clean and roomy, I found the bed comfortable and the pillows were pretty good as well, but this of course is a personal thing as everyone likes their beds their way.

There were lots of ammenties included such as mouthwash, a shoe polisher. There is a pool and hot tub on site and a restaurant in the lot that opens early.

It was a busy weekend while there with youth soccer teams staying there as well. They were a bit raucus but too be expected with 14 girls.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area for a couple days as its a good location and the staff were friendly. There are also planty of shops and restaurants in the area within walking distance.

Just returned from a hockey tournament in Abbotsford. The Bakerview Inn was recommended to our team to stay in. The rates were very reasonable and the rooms were clean, but that's about it. This Motor Inn is located right next to the Highway and the walls must be made out of paper; you can hear vehicles zooming by all night long and you know when guests next door or above you go to the bathroom, take a shower etc. None of us got a restful night and we stayed for three long nights. Lots of guests were partying in front of the rooms and in the parking lot and it took several phone calls to the front desk to come out and break up the parties. The indoor swimming pool is accesible to everyone from an outside door...no key is required to enter and one afternoon while the kids were swimming, a homeless person walked out of the shower....Front Desk staff in general were very rude and not accomodating at all. They seemed bothered by every question and request. One positive is that it's located within walking distance to several restaurants and fast food places as our team arrived by coach bus.

Stayed here 2 nights in October, 2005. The motel is in dire need of a face lift. (Repainting, recarpeting, etc. inside & out) Our room smelled quite musty and the Lysol we sprayed around did little to alleviate it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and hard, so much so that my husband pulled the mattress out of the pull out couch and slept on it on the floor. It is located right off a busy highway and certain rooms closer to the highway would definitely hear the highway noises from their room. We paid $89/night (CAD) and I feel that was over priced for what we got.
