Desert Surfside Waterfront Accomodations

my wife and I stayed there overnight and were pleased with it. Good rooms with kitchen. BBQs overlooking the lake with nice lawn to relax or lie down on. You can tell the host is making an effort to keep things nicely presented, especially when you check out the motels around
Would recommend this "cheap" stay for an overnighter.

Convenient for the lake and the wine region, clean and tidy. The a/c was a bit noisy and you need to work out how to use it. It was not hot when we were there but in the simmer I think you'd need the a/c to work well. The managers were very pleasant and the adjoining apartments seemed quiet. We were able to park out side our apartment just like a Motel (in fact I'm not sure of the difference except that the Motel down the road looked MUCH less welcoming!).

Seemed a bit pricey for a self catering unit but I guess they have to make their money in a limited season.

Two rooms, double bed each, also pull out bed sofa. Lady downstairs in the office was super nice and friendly, and helpful and kind. One of my buddy who stayed with us even mentioned how she was nice and friendly. We paid 138 per night before tax. We went on the end of March 2013 and April 1st 2013 aka easter long weekend. The view from our room was one of the best of my life. Am a fan of the Fairmount Hotel brand. I have to say, wowser, I would come back to this joint any time we r in Osoysoos next. Bbq machine, full kitchen, no blender though. Am sure if I had asked, they might have had one downstairs for us to use. Gas is provided with bbq machine. Kitchen ware was new. We liked their oven. Stayed cool on the outside when we baked our food. We had with us our 10 months baby. He is crawling and starting to walk. So, we were worried he and the oven would meet and he would get burned. Didn't happen. Fireplace at night was nice. Again, can't say enough about this place.

I stayed at the Desert Surfside in Osoyoos, BC for one week in Mar.2012. The room was not that big but perfectly adequate for one person. Place was clean, quiet, and the management staff were friendly and accommodating. Location was an easy walk into town. Lovely walks along the lake. Prices were very reasonable in the off season.

Room Tip: Recommend 2nd floor in case noisy person above you but I did not have that problem.

Just returned from the desert surfside and would recommend to anyone. We stayed in 2 studio apartments which are ideal for couples and were very clean. Beach is nice and the location is an easy walk into town. Staff are friendly and accomodating. Great value in the off season with nice weather in mid September. Only fault i can think of was we did hear stomping from the unit above us and would take a 2nd floor unit next time if available.

This is our second time staying here with our 6 and 4 year old kids. After mistakingly booking us at the Sun Beach Motel (thinking I was booking the Sandy Beach Motel - OMG wrong place!), I ran across the street to the Desert Surfside to see if they had a vacancy. It was my lucky day because we were able to get a 2 bedroom suite (#208). Izzy the manager was more than accommodating - she went out of her way to make our stay most enjoyable. There was a free hot dog lunch, kids crafts, and a wine tasting organized at the resort. The inflatable toys and loungers were a nice touch - the kids loved the floating island. Our suite was great and had everything we needed - fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TV, and 2 nice sized bedrooms with closets. Laundry is also available by apt. if needed. The beach is great and the water is shallow and calm for the little ones. It is about a 10 minute walk to town and to Rattlesnake Canyon (expensive amusement park for kids but worth going to). We will be back! Feel free to email if you have any specific questions.

Room Tip: Ask to see the room first. Room #208 is a 2 bedroom suite.

Just returned from 1 week at the Desert Surfside. The weather was perfect. The beach there is very nice. The swimming area is roped off from the boating area. The Surfside has a water trampoline set up in the water for the children to use. They also have other children's toys and floatables available to borrow in case you don't have any. The beach is raked and cleaned every morning. The patio with the grassy area, tables with chairs, and BBQ's was really nice. The BBQ's are cleaned every afternoon. We had a 2 bed suite (not the Deluxe). Clean and adequate. Too bad there isn't any options for 2 baths as 1 bathroom for 4 people is difficult to manage. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, cutlery, pots as well as microwave, toaster, coffee maker. There is no suger, salt, cooking oil, or other such things so be prepared to bring all of those. We will definately return next year and have already decided on spending the extra money for the deluxe beach view. We took a look at them and they are much bigger and the water view is amazing. We met a lot of families who are regulars - coming back every year for the last 5 - 8 years. The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times. Definately recommend the Surfside.

Room Tip: We have the unfortunate experience of getting placed into a suite that was in between a number of su...
