Owner description: The Osoyoos Desert Centre is a 67 acre nature interpretive facility where visitors can learn about desert ecology, habitat restoration and conservation of endangered ecosystems in the South Okanagan. Guests are invited to explore Canada’s desert by taking a guided or self-guided tour along a 1.5 km elevated wooden boardwalk. In addition, the Centre features an interpretive facility with hands-on exhibits and a native plant demonstration garden. Visitors can also browse through our Gift Shop, enjoy a snack in the outdoor picnic area, or relax at one of the kiosks and take in the spectacular views.

We had an excellent guided visit at the Osoyoos Desert Centre, Our guide was not "just a guide". He was passionate about what he does and as a teacher he was able to transmit and share a lot of information and enthusiasm. When we went to the Desert Centre there were several children and it was great to see how interested they were on plants and wild life. The guide was really great and the Desert Centre is an attraction that should not be missed.

It is so interesting to understand the details around how a desert exists in Canada, the exceptional flora and fauna here and take in what this valley looked like before all the vineyards settled in. I'm partial to the southern part of the Okanagan and have visited this centre twice and both times have learned something new from the guide. It's a safe place for the kids to explore too. Amazing

An interesting morning out with the family. The interpretive centre was good and hands-on for children. The walk round was very hot (it was a desert!!), but could have done with more information and guidance. Also, not much to see in the heat of the sun...everything hides in the shade!

The kids)4,6&8) were interested at first but the heat quickly drained them of their energy. Attendant advised us not to do the tour with the kids b/c it was over an hour long which was a good suggestion.

Tripadvisor aswell as Lonely Plnet call the centre the best activity in Osoyoos. Maybe it is if you see all the animals the guide was telling about. We had to do it with a hummingbird and some butterflies. The giude dit a good job and the small exhibition was OK
