I just make the trip from Vancouver to Nelson a few times a year to visit family and I stop for the night in Osoyoos off-season. During the summer months it can be a bit expensive, crowded, and noisy. I have learned over the years that just because they fix up the outside of a hotel doesn't mean the rooms have been updated. The Best Western Plus Sunrise is one of the best in Osoyoos because the rooms are modern, simple, clean and quiet, everything that matters in a hotel. This is typical of Osoyoos, not a luxury resort. The hotels all generally look the same from the outside but the Best Western is much nicer than the rest on the inside. The Watermark is pricier but the rooms are the same quality. The pool and hot tub here are OK and again, typically not 4 or 5 star luxury in Osoyoos so expect clean and simple.
The clincher at this Best Western is the service. They actually care here and are willing to do whatever it takes to make their guest happy. Esther at the front desk stands out as an example of someone who will do her best to make you feel welcome. I won't name the brand but a few doors down last summer another brand lost our business because we felt like we were unwanted. We were prepared as we drove up to be treated to more of the same but we were so happy with Esther and her winning attitude! This in combination with the modern room mean we have a new favourite place to stay in Osoyoos.
