Great facility, great presentation on snakes by the Crazy snake lady!!! My daughter 8 years loved it. Very beautifully crafted building and displays. Definately a great stop in Osoyoos. We didn't do the full walking trail but enough to interpret the stories and experience the environment. Not cheap but worth it.

Thank Candace H

This summer was my second visit to Nk'mip (In-ka-meep) and it's a must do when in Osoyoos. You really get to learn much about the Okanagan First Nations and see the unique landscapes in the area. One recommendation is do this in the morning and with a big bottle of water as you get to experience the Okanagan summer heat.

We stopped here on our way back to Seattle from Penticton. We wished we had had more time to explore this great little museum. We missed the movie and the snake talk and didn't get a proper look around inside. Fortunately we arrived just as the docent, Barbara, was starting her tour. It was well worth the fee! She was a fantastic guide talking about everything along the trail the whole way. We learned so much about the Okanagan First Nation and their ancient way of life. Not knowing about the outdoor tour ahead of time, I left my hiking stick in the car but at least I had my hat, sunglasses and bottle of water. They even have sign board telling you to be prepared before going out on the trails. Once she had finished the tour she gave us an option of two different ways to return to the museum from the village. We took the upper trail where there was a fantastic view of the lake and surrounding hills.
You really need to have a couple hours free if you want to do the tour, the hike, the snake talk and the movie. A picnic lunch would be a great idea too--there are several benches at various view points along the trail as well as a picnic table near the museum.

We loved the informative talk about the local snakes. The presenter was clear, but embarrassed a few of the young kids when they gave wrong answers to her questions. Otherwise, still worth a visit.
