We stayed here while in the Toronto area and had a very good stay. Our "larger" room was extra spacious and roomy and had the usual Courtyard décor. Some of the furnishings did look dated. The lobby area was spacious and made a great place to relax.

The hotel is located close to Highway 7 and 404. Traffic around the hotel can get busy on weekday evenings. Driving to downtown takes around 30 minutes if traffic is not bad. There are tons of restaurants, especially Chinese restaurants, within a 10-minute drive including a plaza full of restaurants that you could almost walk to. The hotel is adjacent to a Residence Inn, and there was ample parking.More

Nice place, terrible breakfast
This hotel is one if two category three Marriott hotels on the same property, managed by the same GM. We have stayed at both of them. The other is a Residence Inn. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and functional, although the lack of USB outlets seems odd in 2019.

We paid a bit more to include the breakfast in the rate thinking it would be similar to the excellent breakfast offered at the neighbouring Residence Inn. What a disappointment. There is a small cafe place where you make your order. Coffee and tea are in cardboard cups, and water is just bottles. The breakfast arrived after a long wait with cold toast and the eggs not cooked as we ordered. There was a fruit salad for sale but it looked dried out. Other than that there was an orange or an apple available, no bananas. We sent back the tea biscuit because it was stale.

The front desk staff discounted our room rate by 10% because of the disappointing breakfast.

Great place to stay, just skip the breakfast. We have a few more stays coming and they will be at the Residence Inn because it’s significantly better.

The corporate answer to the difference between the two properties is that because the Residence Inn is designed for long term stays they include a nice buffet breakfast. That makes no sense in the real world as we all need a good breakfast to start our day, no matter how long we might be staying.

A little outdated
The rooms are outdated, in need of a renovation sometime soon, the bathtub was definitely old and aged, not too pleasant, the TV is pretty small and no Netflix access.
The rooms are however clean, the location not bad - despite being close to a highway, it's quiet. Large free parking lot.

Very Clean Hotel
We stayed at The Courtyard Toronto/Markham one night over this past weekend.
When we arrived the young lady at the front desk was so pleasant to deal with. She genuinely wanted to make us comfortable and happy.
When we arrived at our room it was immaculate. I am guessing that this is a hotel that has been refurbished and they did an excellent job. I am very fussy about cleanliness and this met my expectations.
The rooms aren’t fancy but I will say again very clean.
There wasn’t a single employee that we came across that wasn’t extremely pleasant .
The hotel is very close to quite a few nice restaurants.

nice, clean place
Fast check in. Front desk gentleman ( Mr Samson) was polite and very helpful.
Clean rooms. Easy reach to Hwy 404.
Missing was Safe Box. That would have helped. Stayed 2 nights.
Swimming pool water comfortable. The pace was busy but was able to park at Residence Inn, next door.

Service above and beyond
Staying here to be near a relative who is hospitalized.
Front desk, (Thank you, Cheryl for your kindness this morning!) And Housekeeping going far out of their way to make us comfortable during this stressful time.
A Lovely and peaceful place to get much needed rest.
Great location near restaurants and stores.
Booked through the front desk at a great CAA rate.
