“Fabulous Brunch Buffett!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

We hadn't been to this brunch buffet for a long while but decided to revisit it with friends as it was a half-way point for us to meet.
Wow- it was fantastic! Great selection of breakfast & lunch items, including an omelette bar, waffles & carving station.
Everything was good & there's lots to try so pace yourself.
Very reasonably priced at & $25 pp.
We will be back!

“Good basic family restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2013

We ate at this restaurant just prior to checking out of the Best Western Convention Hotel. The young male waiter was very hospitable, a sense of humour he did have. We are not big eaters so on the back of the menu there is a page for seniors which was just what we were looking for. The prices were reasonable and being a guest of the hotel there was an additional 10% discount. The bill including the tip was $20.00.

“Rockwell's Buffet Really Rocks”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2013

We went for the buffet brunch yesterday (Sun. Oct. 27, 2013) as a family of eight, ranging in age from 12 to 74, at Rockwell’s Bar & Grill located in the Best Western Coquitlam Motor Inn on North Road, Coquitlam, BC.

It was an excellent buffet in terms of variety and quality. The atmosphere was relaxing and the display of food was very well done. Our server, Vicki, was efficient, friendly and fun, as was the server at the omelet prep and the roast carving section.

I told the manager (Mike) as we were leaving that we have lived in Coquitlam for 47 years but had never been to the buffet offered by Rockwell’s over the past few years, and that we plan to return there instead of heading all the way to one of our two usual places in Vancouver to celebrate birthdays, one being “The Top of Vancouver”, which rotates for a 360 degree, beautiful view of downtown Vancouver. But the grotto effect in the local Inn was great for us. Our two Granddaughters were wide-eyed when they entered the garden area and saw the table waiting for us, orange juice already freshly poured, near the extensive array of warming bins and cold food trays. They, and our older Children said that the atmosphere (with the vegetation plus the sound of running water in the pool features beyond us) reminded them of being in the Blue Bayou Restaurant in Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean! That alone is high praise from our family!

We all agreed that the variety and quality of food at Rockwell’s buffet brunch met or surpassed that of "The Top of Vancouver" where we have "spent" several times celebrating occasions over the years. The bonus is that Rockwell’s price (at $25/adult, plus discounts for seniors and children) is a whole 60% of that for “The Top” (which was $42/person as at last March).

There was FAR too much food variety at Rockwell’s to allow us to sample it all… even as a team of 8 being there for almost 2 ½ hours! And no pay parking in a basement garage here either, just lots of free parking right near the entrance to the Inn.

Over my 74 years on the Planet, I have been to many buffets, including ones on several cruise ships, and this one ranks among the top. And here it was, hidden only blocks away from our home! We'll be BAAACK!

“Beware the soup nazi at The Pantry”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 9, 2013

We went to The Pantry for breakfast which was included with our hotel room. The breakfast is limited to 3 basic options, with no replacements, and no option at all for a vegetarian breakfast. The women who served us was hostile and rude. When we arrived she barked at us about showing our coupons and then asked us if we knew what we wanted before she had even shown us to a table. We certainly felt that they did not value having coupon-carrying customers. The breakfast was OK but such behaviour is nowhere near acceptable and I would definitely recommend going elsewhere if you happen to be staying at the Best Western.
