“Hospitality Training Needed!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 5, 2012

We stayed at this hotel for one night during the Labour Day long weekend and all I can say is the staff here are in desparate need of hospitality training. Unprofessional staff at the front desk. No sense that the staff had any interest in being prompt or helpful. In fact, we felt like we were cutting into their time. I'm no high maintenance diva, but I do expect hotel staff to be friendly and helpful. If I were management at this place, there would be a few people out of a job today. The rooms were mediocre, but not bad. Thankfully, I don't see me needing to ever stay here again. I suspect many people that encounter the staff there feel the same way.

The hotel is located in a wonderful area! I was able to gain access to the city's bus lines and sky train within a five minute walk. However, the hotel itself was fairly disappointing.

Although the lobby is nicely decorated, the rooms look as though they belong to a motel rather than a hotel. The list of offensive items are the following:
1. Stained armchair;
2. Stained blankets and linen that are also covered with holes;
3. Lumpy pillows;
4. Weak wi-fi Internet connection;
5. Dusty furniture;
6. Broken drawers;
7. Dirty bathroom floors and shower curtains; and
8. Rough towels.

I sincerely hope that the hotel's management will consider updating the rooms because they were terrible. I do not think that I will stay in the hotel in the future.

If you are looking for a budget hotel that is in close proximity to transit, you should consider this hotel. However, if you care about cleanliness, then you should consider a different hotel.

Me and my boyfriend were not planning on staying the night in Vancouver (Coquitlam) but we had vehicle troubles so we had no choice. This was a Saturday night so vacancy was scarce, when I called the Executive Plaza in Coquitlam. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and you could tell he was experienced (If I remember correctly his name was Oliver).
He gave us directions and held the room to see if we needed it or not. The server at the bar helped me with my wine, and was very nice.

The room on the other hand, was decent at best. The door is extremely difficult to open (I could not do it alone), you could tell their was graffiti on the roof at one point and they had painted over it. The bath tub was heavily stained. The complimentary shampoo, how ever, was lovely :)

All in all, not the worst in Vancouver and the staff were nothing but professional. The rooms may need a deep cleaning or renovation.

Very neat and affordable hotel. The staff and meals are perfect. Will definately patronize again and also branches across the globe. The room was cool and comfortable. Location is perfect if you want to tour around via the skytrain.

Room Tip: Check for online booking package.

Large rooms, comfy bed, clean rooms and lobby, excellent hot water pressure, covered parking, great resturants within walking distance (Joey's and Sushi California), and a shopping mall three blocks away! What's not to like?

Large quiet rooms, good restaurant, free parking: it's exactly what I've been looking for.

Check in was fast and courteous. I never waited more than a handful of seconds for the elevator. The room, a small suite, was handsomely appointed. The queen bed was extremly comfortable, with four excellent pillows and a beautiful duvet. There was free broadband wi-fi without a password. There was a window that opened to allow fresh air. The room was dead quiet at night. The bathroom was nice enough (although the tub/shower was a bit worn and dated). Far from the fanciest hotel in which I've stayed, but for the price I thought it was a terrific value.
