Certainly not outstanding, but edible. A few of the dishes sort of tasted the same. One was quite overdone. Service was so so for the money.

Bad day at work? Strata Council on your case? Significant other being a pain in the nether reason. Well, I have the answer for you pal. Head straight for Burgoo on Lonsdale or Kits (I think they have a couple of other locations, too) and order up one of their positively fantastic stews. Oh the Provencale Ratatouille, the Irish Stew, the Beef Bourguigon, the Goulash, and on and on, each one more delicious than the other. We're talking stews like mama used to make (or would have, had she been able to do more than crack open a can of Dinty Moores.) They serve brunch with salads and sandwiches and stuff, too - but it's the stews, the stews you must, must have - and then, all will be right with your world. Guaranteed.

We used to visit here more, but they got rid of the wonderful lentil soup, leaving fewer veg. options. However, they still make good food. Service is decent and prices are reasonable. Just a couple of blocks up from the North Vancouver Seabus terminal.

The fondue is spectacular at this place. Liked how the menu has little annotations of the country of origin beside each dish. Good hearty, homey menu items. This place is always busy. The hostess at the North Vancouver location was not the best at her job, as she completely missed our name on the list & opted to 'call my cell phone', instead of stepping outside the door & calling my name. Not impressed

My girlfriend and I were looking for somewhere to dine where we could get something different but tasty on a wet and dreary day. We hadn't been to Burgoo in some time so decided to pay a visit. The staff were friendly and we were seated right away. My girlfriend was interested in one of the white wines and they offered a taster to see if she wanted a full glass. The taster was a reasonable portion and she was able to enjoy the sample and decided to have a full glass. I chose a seasonal beer from Montreal with a hint of pumpkin.
For our dinner we chose the seasonal greens salad, a Brie fondue and Espanol Mussels. The salad was delicious: mixed greens with cut pear, Chevre and spiced pecans,
finished with acookhouse vinaigrette. The vinaigrette had a touch of tang and there was reasonable portions of pear and Chevre. The Brie fondue was served with chunks of sliced apple and crusty bread. We both thoroughly enjoyed the fondue and both the apples and bread were fresh. The Espanol mussels were very tasty and there was a generous portion of mussels. The broth was a nice composition of white wine, tomato, saffron and Chorizo. The Chorizo was not in slices but small pieces and this worked really well as the broth was very tasty and we both scooped up spoons of broth to fully savour the flavour.
There was live music from a solo artist and there was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The restaurant was busy but not too loud.
We enjoyed our evening and very much enjoyed our meal.
