“Average says it all”
Reviewed May 11, 2013

Last time I tried a restaurant based on Guy Fieri's Diner Drive-Ins Show, it was a major, major disappointment. This time, it was just average. The hostess and waitress was great! the food, over-priced and just so so. I had the french dip as recommended by Guy and it was nothing special. $45 for our meal and wished I had not gone.

“Give it a miss”
Reviewed May 1, 2013

I don't know why this place is rated so high..I'm guessing something is good on the menu. We love burgers so we had burgers and they were really really average and not big portions. No liquor licence either?! Its a shame because it seemed like a nice spot.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

First off, the Indian-themed kitsch may have been a hit in the 1950's, but it seems very out of place today. I'm always wary of a restaurant that puts as much emphasis on selling t-shirts as it does serving good food.

The Tomahawk doesn't have a liquor license, which we didn't learn until we were seated. As for the meal, it was the first time I ordered a turkey club sandwich that had more dark meat than white. After a long hunt to find the restaurant, based on a local's recommendation, the visit was an extreme let-down.

“Brunch only ordinary”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

We couldn't believe the wait to get in on a Sunday for brunch. Not worth the wait. Limited menu, i couldn't find pancakes at all. No interesting combinations or pastries. Just bread. The food did not look that good or taste that good. Prices were no deal. My friend apologized for the big buildup. Disappointing. We had eggs. Only ordinary. The man with the ponytail who seemed to be the manager was rude. There were empty tables with a long line of people waiting. I did find the native artifacts and drawing on the placemats interesting. My one cup of coffee (no refills offered) was good, but not spectacular. They obviously are not interested in working to get our business. We won't go back.

“Doesn't live up to the reputation”
Reviewed April 15, 2013

The Tomahawk Barbeque has a huge reputation as THE place to go for brunch. Sorry...it doesn't come close to deserving that reputation. The food was fine.. good diner food, but not notably special. The real problem was the service! After ordering, we waited almost an hour for our breakfast .... And that was after waiting to get in! The servers seemed to hardly care, which told us that the situation was probably pretty normal. There are many other options out there for this kind of thing.... try them first.
