Ok...the view is stunning, and - at the end of a very good evening meal - what a way to end a day: a couple of glasses of wine...and a cable car ride with the lights of Vancouver below. Amazing; but what about the restaurant? Well, certainly a little pretentious in style but then I suppose it has reason to be. Were it not for the free sky-ride and pass to the Grouse Mountain attractions earlier (that came with a confirmed booking in the restaurant), it would undoubtedly come in the "very expensive" category for me; but - combined with these goodies - it was not unreasonable. We were a party of four on the last night of a long tour...and were probably very tired; but it was all quite hard work making sense of the menu...and choosing an appropriate wine! When the food was served, each dish was 'explained' at great length by our waiter which seemed designed to make us feel infinitely inferior to what was being served up to us Philistines! I am being unfair! The food was very good...the service excellent...and (I suppose I had better say it) the setting high above the city...fabulous. So...why not 5 stars? Well, perhaps it was just me feeling tired.
