“Schnitzel House”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

I love the cooking here. This is a really old-style restaurant. The decor hasn't changed in 20 years but the quality of the food is excellent.

“Enjoyable Evening”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

On our recent holiday in BC my wife, my brother and his wife and I stayed in North Vancouver with our son and his wife. We had an excellent meal based around Bavarian cuisine but there was many choices available on an extensive menu. The service was first class and our waitress made us feel at home. We will be dining again on our next visit to BC.

“So many Schnitzel to choose from!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

My mum and I decided to go for dinner within walking distance and decided on Jagerhof Schnitsel House.
We were greeted at the door quickly and were given a choice of where we wanted to sit. It's a smaller restaurant, but it can still seat larger groups. Super cute on the inside and not too loud.
Great selection of different styles of schnitzel, so many choices of toppings or stuffings!
Mum chose the Malaspina - stuffed with smoked salmon and topped with a sauce with capers.
I chose the Expo - stuffed with black forest ham, Camembert and topped with a sauce. Both dishes came with red cabbage and either roast potatoes or spatzel.
Delishious!! We both ordered the lunch portion size which was big enough for us.
Both meals with a half litre of wine and the bill was very reasonable.
Our server was very friendly and took the time to chat with us for a few minutes, which was nice, even though it was a little busy at the time.
We will be back!!

“Simply good food”
Reviewed October 21, 2012 via mobile

i live a few blocks up and always noticed this interesting looking place. Looks like an old little house. Finally walked down there last night to try it out. It was around 7ish when i got there and every table was taken. From the outside you can't tell how busy it is from the small windows. Oh well we waited maybe 10 mins then was sat. Most people in there were older. 50 plus years old. We ordered up and then food came relatively quick as it was so busy with only 2 servers and they bussed as well. I ordered the florentine schnitzel but was given a wrong one with shrimp and cream sauce. I was too hungry to ask to get the order right so i ate it anyway. It was still very good. The server was very apologetic as she messed up but i didn't care. The food was awesome. Definitely want to head back to try some other choices!

“Authentic Austrian schnitzel”
Reviewed September 8, 2012

The atmosphere is very authentic Austrian hunting lodge. Lots of antlers and animal heads, bordering on kitschy, but true to the theme. The noise level is not conducive to a relaxing dinner, although the number of unruly and undisciplined children in the restaurant that night certainly did not help. Service was prompt and friendly, which I considered laudable given the aforementioned children situation. Nevertheless, the schnitzel was very good. The sides of red cabbage and spaetzle were good however the amounts were small. Unless you are very hungry, the small "lunch" size is more than enough food. This is a restaurant worth going to, but not going out of your way for. Prices are reasonable. We wanted to try the palatschinke, an Austrian dessert specialty, however, they were out of both that dish and our second choice.
