not for the faint of heart, you must be in good shape to do the grind. best to do early in the morning as it gets very busy. Not much more you can do for a fantastic workout in an hour or less. Get ready to sweat!

Good climb and great place for Coffee when you get to the top. Hike takes around an hour, less if you are in great shape!

If you're into exercise, this is it. I did it more than 10 years ago. Just had to see what it was like. Once was enough for me though. Great work-our for sure.

Once an interesting local challenge, the Grind has become one of my least favorite hikes in the GVA. Not only do you have to pay to use it, but it's over-crowded and stressful, not exactly what I look for on a hike. The view from the top is ok, but I do not support the exploitation of the poor Grizzly that is kept locked up for tourists. All and all, I would rather stroll the seawall around Stanley park, run through Queen Elizabeth Park, or stroll along any number of west van or north van trails before I would consider the Grind. If you are an absolute health nut and NEED to know your time, then go for it, but it is not worth the effort and irritation for me!
