“Best Indian Food on the North Shore”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2013

I've been to Handi, Mumbai Massala and Palki's but none are as good as Vaades. Kapel and his great chef cook some great tasting Indian food. And they make it spicy like authentic Indian if you want. Try the Baingan Bharta eggplant curry. Go for lunch where you will get a great thali like set with veges of the day, rice and naan. Also, if you want lots of food, good value and a great way of ordering online, try takeout. You won't be disappointed...

“A good choice on the North Shore”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 1, 2012

Only been there once. What I really noticed was the attention to detail in preparation and presentation of food. Service was excellent even though I did see only one person at dinner doing both seated and take-out service.

Also impressed with the atmosphere/decor and menu -- seemed to put a modern twist on traditional quisine plus on the finer side of casual dining. Soft lighting/effects and immaculate table settings.

I ordered mild butter chicken (wasn't feeling too adventurous). It was good, though I felt it could have used more simmer time and, next time, I'll go for medium/try other dishes. Delicous wild green salad was one of the sides. They also offer an alternative to wheat chapatis (don't think home-made though).

Will go back and recommend.

“Our favorite place for Indian food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 19, 2012

I am a big fan of Indian food and have even lived with people from India in the past. Yet this is my favorite place for Indian food. The service is excellent, the food delicious and the prices at a good value. I highly recommend this place!

“Tried to eat there but something in the air burned out eyes.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2012 via mobile

Maybe it was disinfectant, which is a good thing. Maybe it was a spice they use. Good too. But it was so strong it made our eyes burn and we had to leave. So we didn't get to order but we will come back to try. Our server was great and offered to open the door for some ventilation. That was a nice offer but it was too late. We had lost our appetite. This place has a great local reputation and I'm surprised there aren't more reviews about it on Trip Advisor.

Definite lack of ambience in the place. It was very cafeteria-like. They could dim the lights and use some mood or area lighting. I'm no designer but ambience is important when you're dining.

Anyhow, we will go back and try the food and report out again.

“Fail..”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 11, 2012 via mobile

We tried this place as it is close to home. We love Indian food and decided to give it a go. The place is new and very clean, their website is really well done which also captivated us to try. Mainly the story about the chef loving to prepare lamb and was his specialty got me. I'm a lamb freak! Got there and ordered a lamb curry and a chicken. So disappointed...very watery flavorless curries and basically boiled meats thrown into it. Worst ever...don't even bother with this place. It looks nice from the outside but food quality is poor
