“Alright for the Price”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 21, 2006

This place is ok for $55 a night. It is an older motel and shows its age.
The bedspreads could use replacing and the carpet is not brand new, but in North Vanc this is a great deal. It was fairly clean, not spotless, but for what we needed for one night it was ok. The bathroom is extremely small and only has a shower stall (no tub). The shower stall desperately needs some new tiles and an update, but for a quick shower it works.
This is not the Ritz, or even a Holiday Inn, but more of a quick stopover place.
We had an early appointment of 8am nearby, and all we needed was somewhere cheap to crash for the night. If we were on vacation I would not stay here. There are other places in the area that are cleaner and nicer.
The tv was great and had all the major channels plus the full cable line up. We were at the very back of the motel and I was able to get a wireless connection if I sat on the bed with the curtains open. Must have been from the house across the street or another nearby motel.
The walls are pretty paper thin and our neighbors were a bit noisy, but they got quiet pretty quickly once I called the front desk.
The beds are 'ok'. The pillows were better than expected and not super flat.
If you are on holidays, stay somewhere else, but if you need a cheap place to crash and sleep, this works ok.

We were very nervous, but we were soo surprised. They just put in new carpets and beds. The decor is better than most hotel. Bathroom clean, but needs updating. Close to the attractions we needed.

The rooms are not sound proof. TV and shower easily
heard. No fridge even though it was mentioned in the
description. Surly front desk in the morning. Complimentary newspaper was a tabloid trashy type.
Pack em in and then shut up about it was the feeling I got about this hotel. For 74 u.s. dollars it wasn't even
cheap or discount. We got lost finding the place went to
west Vancouver instead of north Vancouver. It is near
a Denny's and a noodle place.

My travel agent booked us into this Travelodge. At first I was apprehensive, Travelodge's in my area are not great. We needed to be close to the cruise terminal as we were taking a cruise to Alaska, and be near attractions. We spent half of what we would have in the city, got a new "mini suite". Loved it, Loved it. What a surprise. We enjoyed our room, clean, comfortable, and we enjoyed Grouse Mtn and Suspension Bridge near by.
At the other end of Lions Gate bridge, 5 min to Stanley Park.
Try this out, we saved ,and spent else where!!!
