“Not a necessary stop”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2010

As advised by the reviews and our hotel concierge - we decided to check out Lynn Canyon Park instead of Capiliano Suspension Bridge. The bridge was kind of cool but other than that, I didn't really think it was worth it. The hikes within the park weren't all that great - I much preferred the hikes along the Sea to Sky Highway. If you have a long time in Vancouver then maybe make a stop, otherwise - it's not a necessary destination.

“One of Vancouver's best free attractions...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 13, 2010

One of my favorite place in Vancouver, a very nice natural park, just minutes away from the city. I was there with a group of young guys from HI Downtown hostel, our guide was "world-famous" Erik, a retired Vancouverite, who offers free tours in and around Vanc. for people staying in Vanc.'s HI hostels. If you love Vancouver, but you also miss nature, this is the place for you! It can be reached by public transport (bus) from downtown. It's ideal for a short hike (1-2h), go on a warm and sunny day, then the atmosphere in the forest is perfect. The trail is very nice and there's nice river on the way. The main attraction is the suspension bridge in the canyon, which is much smaller than Capilano, but it's free, the area is nicer and seems rather unspoiled compared to Capilano - so, definitely worth a visit!

“awsome park”

road the #210 buss from downtown. visited in early august with perfect weather. the thirty foot pool is not to be missed. crazy people jumping into the pool from high up on the rocks and half of Vancouver playing on the boulders in the river below. a great outdoor experience close to town.

“Excellent place to avoid crowds”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 3, 2010

We loved Lynn Canyon, and loved that it was NOT mobbed by a million tourists.
Easy to find, easy to park, FREE!!, suspension bridge was big enough for me! ( not a fan of heights ), great trails to walk and enjoy the creek.
When we were done we drove past Capilano......so glad we skipped that zoo!

“Nice place for a hike”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2010

Lynn Canyon Park is a nice place for a quick hike and see a typical northwest forest.

There is easy and quick access from Trans Canada Highway 1 - and there are good places to get something to eat on the way.

As you park you vehicle and enter the park, there is a suspension bridge that takes you across the canyon. This is a much cheaper (free) version compared to the other tourist trap suspension bridge in Vancouver :)

Beyond the bridge there are two trails that go down to the river. We took the Twin Falls trail down to the bridge with our kids and loved seeing the forest trees, the vine maples, lots of banana slugs and then the rushing water from the twin falls bridge.

For people that like a secluded environment, the thing to be aware of is that this is a popular and crowded trail and seems to be even more popular with dog owners that don't own a leash (even though a sign does say dogs should be on a leash).

Thank Siddi
