We stayed here strictly for the price of the hotel, it wasn't near where we needed to be but for $75 / night we couldn't pass it up. So great price, good location as other reviews have stated.

We have a double queen room which was very spacious and clean. Had a small fridge and coffee pot. Bed was clean and comfortable with nice bedding. The bathroom has lots of room but the shower has seen better days, but it had very good water pressure.

Check in / out was quick and easy. Would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the price.

Dear Guest

Thank you kindly for leaving such a nice review. We are so happy that you got a great deal, and found the location to be good.
The rooms are larger than most hotels, and yes, the water pressure is great! We are constantly working on updating our bathrooms and ensuring that they are always looking fresh!
We hope to welcome you back on your next trip to North Vancouver!

Sincerely,

The Lonsdale is not a bad property but lacks the kind of hospitality that could make it a much better hotel. We had an off-putting experience while checking in, with confusion at the front desk and a real lack of warmth from the staff. They then called us twice to clear up their mistakes and by the end we were just wishing they would leave us alone!

Our room was clean and comfortable with a partial waterfront view looking across to Downtown Victoria. A small balcony is off the room but it was too cold and wet to go outside. We had an Executive Suite that really only means you get a watercooler (for gathering around to chat?), a mini fridge and a microwave. We had a package that included champagne and chocolate, which turned out to be a split, not a full bottle, and some mediocre packaged candies. Not thrilling. The bottle was not chilled but left on the bureau. Why? Not sure.

The hotel sits within a complex on the waterfront that includes a small shopping center. The food area is interesting enough to stroll through but is no Granville Island. The shops are tacky and the entire "market" appears to be a bit down on its luck. The restaurants there are quite average and not worth trying unless you need to eat right away. Better luck around the corner with more interesting menu options.

Fortunately, the hotel's location next to the ferry terminal means you can easily travel across the harbor to the downtown area without driving. That is a big plus.

If you stay here, get a room on the 4th floor past the midway point (we were in 416) to have the best view possible of the water.

Room Tip: Ask for a room as close to the water as possible, at least #416 or higher.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for your review. I am happy that you found the hotel to be in a good location. I'm sorry that you experienced some service issues, and I have shared your comments with our Rooms Division Manager. We apologize, for the return calls. Also, we noted that the Executive Room difference was the water cooler. The bedding is higher quality, the fixtures and furnishings are not the same as a standard room. The water coolers are designed to offer comfort to guests arriving from other counties that feel unsure to drink the tap water. Of course, British Columbia has some of the best water in the world, however our guests do not know this upon check in.
We also noted that you booked your package from Groupon. This was a GREAT deal that we offered, that included a full bottle of Henkel Sparkling wine for two. We do try to chill the champagne before check in time, however late arrival guests may find that it has warmed up.
Your suggestion to request a higher number room is good, as the views improve as you get closer to the water.
We hope that we have another opportunity to welcome you back.
Sincerely,
Farah Stéen

My husband and I have stayed at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel about five times over five years and it's always been a really good experience. Excellent location - seconds from the Seabus terminal to downtown Vancouver, and at the foot of vibrant, diverse Lower Lonsdale. Check-in is friendly and fast, parking is easy ($12/night) and underground, rooms have small fridges and coffee makers, and free Wi-Fi. Clean, good showers, lots of hangers in the closet, blow dryer and ironing board provided. Housekeeping is prompt and thorough. For location, cleanliness, amenities and price, I would highly recommend.

I've stayed here several times and have always enjoyed the visit. The hotel is good and I like the room at the back rather than the water view; they are quite a bit bigger.

The big plus is being located in the Lonsdale Quay Market with its great selection of food to eat and purchase. You have easy access to downtown Vancouver via the Seabus and a great choice of restaurants on Lower Lonsdale. I've often found good deals here via online booking sites.

A friend and I recently stayed at this hotel for a girls' night away. Everything about our stay at the Lonsdale Quay Hotel was exactly perfect for what we were hoping it would be! The lobby of the hotel (I think the 3rd floor of the Quay) looked modern and inviting. Our room, located on the 4th floor, had its own private balcony which I wish we could've enjoyed (it's winter and pouring rain but looked lovely!). The beds were firm but comfortable, although the pillows were a little flimsy so if you need extra support you should bring your own. Everything was tastefully updated, from a decor point of view, and my friend and I both commented on how we actually liked the artwork (how often does that happen in a hotel?!). This was a perfect location for us, because we paid the $11 for parking and just walked everywhere the whole time we were there. Lots of great shops in the Quay and out, and also lots of great restaurants nearby. We really enjoyed our breakfast in the morning; the food was plentiful and tasty and the waiter was incredibly attentive and charming. I'd definitely stay here again for a staycation!!
