“Great experience, excellent value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 14, 2013

We stayed in the suite with a kitchenette, pullout couch and separate bedroom with our 2 1/2 year old. The suite had plenty of space, the kitchenette was well stocked (toaster, coffee maker, stove etc). One review indicated there were no plates, just a couple of paper plates, which was true. We did fine, and I'm sure the staff could have accommodated plates if needed.

Everything was very clean, and the rooms were very quiet. The whole hotel is now non-smoking (as of Oct 2013) and they said they were re-doing the previously smoking floors so that they would not smell. The pool was a fantastic diversion, and we used it several times.

The Pantry offered good food at reasonable prices (although Saturday breakfast was inexcusably slow), and Seymour's Pub was great too.

It has a Supercentre grocery store within walking distance, and a liquor store and pizza place very close as well. Convenient to highways too.

Overall, I wouldn't look elsewhere if I was staying in Vancouver again. They were great.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 5th floor (always non-smoking), and it was very quiet.

We stayed in Room 212, the Kitchenette. Although this hotel has a nice location, and was kept very clean (room service was excellent), we found the price of a kitchenette was not worth it. Unlike the picture on the website, there was no seating for four, and we had to keep asking for "paper plates." If you want china plates, ask the front desk, we did not see this posting until the end of our trip. Also in this room, beside the counter, there is a door to "no where" (open it up to face a wooden wall), and unfortunately, you can hear virtually everything from your neighbour because of it.
Also, be mindful of the 3:00pm checkin. We arrived, a tad early, at 2:40pm and had no problem waiting in the lobby. The front desk staff told us the room was not ready, and they wanted it to be perfect, it would be another 20 minutes, and that he would come and let us know. No problem we said, as we were early. But, after 40 minutes, we walked back to the desk to ask another lady if our room was ready, and she said of course. As we were officially checking in, the first man we spoke with was on his way out for the day, oops I guess he forgot to let us know. That irked us a bit.
We enjoyed dinner at the Pantry twice, the fish and chips are recommended.

Room Tip: 212 Gives you a view of the front parking lot. But the random door beside the kitchenette is not wel...

Dear alberta-bound2010,

Thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts and concerns. We are so glad you liked the fine location of our hotel in the area. Please allow us to apologize you were not well satisfied with the room accommodations you received and the service you encountered during check-in did not live up to your expectations. We are hospitality professionals who pride ourselves on delivering world class experience. For that reason, the comments are troubling and will certainly be looked into. Thank you for staying and we hope you give us another chance to make your stay as best as it can be.

HOLIDAY INN N. VANCOUVER DATES OF STAY 09/01 & 09/02/13

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in North Vancouver for two nights. This is a fairly new hotel, only about 20 minutes from downtown. We chose this hotel for location-close to downtown but we had a rental car, which if you stay in a lot of downtown hotels you do pay for parking but at this hotel has free parking. For convenience there is a restaurant, lounge, and liquor store on site, good breakfast at the Pantry Restaurant. There is a Canada Superstore across the street for groceries and clothing. The hotel is comfortable and the room was a good size and clean, the front desk was very helpful. This hotel had all of there vending and ice machines in a closed room which helped with noise in the halls, which I thought is a good idea. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Room Tip: The ice and vending machines are in closed rooms, so it eliminates noise. I wish more hotels would d...

My organization held a small conference here on October 5, 2013. Staff were all helpful, adaptable and gracious. The facilities were spotless and in good shape as were the rooms, and the rates were reasonable. The staff's warmth helped our participants relax and enjoy our gathering. The only glitch was the sound system in the meeting rooms - which they know they need to replace. The best option I know of on the North Shore of Vancouver, and right off Hwy 1.

I had not realized how far the hotel was from the airport when I booked the room and the cab fare was a shock. We arrived early, very, very tired from a long flight. The desk staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating at finding a room for us asap. The beds were so comfortable it was like heaven and the room was very well appointed. Nice restaurants onsite and we were close enough to the Capilano Suspension Bridge for a lovely afternoon trip. Would totally recommend this hotel.
