Owner description: Just 15 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Grouse Mountain attracts locals and tourists alike. During the summer, guests enjoy hiking, Zip Line Adventures, paragliding, sightseeing, lumberjack shows and more. In winter, we have skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sleigh rides among many other activities. Grouse Mountain also features several different dining venues, from café style at Lupins to casual dining at Altitudes and fine dining as a guest at The Observatory. We also have a refuge for endangered wildlife.
Useful Information: Activities for older children

We weren't sure about going to Grouse Mountain in July because it's clearly a winter sports venue but it does have lots to offer to summer visitors. The opportunity to go to the top of a wind turbine is not to be missed.

If visiting Grouse mountain in the summer, take the cable car up to the top (about a 6 minute ride). Then you can take a chair life even higher. I recommend going in the evening as the sunset is beautiful and the view of the city is breathtaking. You are able to see two bears in a pretty natural habitat. The only negative are the amount of bugs! They do not bite you but there are so many constantly swarming you!

We visited Grouse Mountain on the last day of a 17 day tour of British Columbia and Alaska so it was going to have to be good to impress me. I wasn't let down. We travelled halfway up the mountain by gondola and wandered past amazing wood carvings to the arena. We watched a logging show that was included in the price. It was brilliant, fun and exciting, We then moved to the area where Coola and Grinder live. They are two brown bears that were orphaned as cubs, and now reside in a very large enclosure on the mountain. We had already seen a bear in the wild but we couldn't believe how close we were to these guys, sitting in a pond munching away on red apples. We then went by chair lift to the summit and had fantastic views over Vancouver. We didn't dare try the zip line but I would if I was 20 years younger.

Grouse Mountain is always a pleasure and provides a phenomenal view of the city! The lumberjack show was entertaining. Missed seeing the bears, but maybe next time!

Grouse mountain has awesome views over the city, well worth the climb up the Grind (take the cable car unless you are pretty fit). Lumberjack show is a bit corny but good fun. Bird show is great and if you are lucky, the bears may come out to see you.
