We were staying at the River Rock and couldn't get into the restaurant there so we made a last minute reservation for 4 and took a short cab ride to the Boathouse. We only had 1 1/2 hours as we were booked to see a show back at the RR. The Boathouse is old but in a good way, kind of how the old Keg in North Van used to be. Cozy. As an added bonus it was Lobster Fest!! My mixed drink was good, and a nice bottle of wine was not exorbitantly priced. Two of us ordered steak and lobster and it was yummy but came without melted butter. We asked for butter and our waitress managed to deliver it while the lobster was still hot. The place was packed and she was very busy so it was a good effort on her part. The steak was perfectly cooked. The other two in our party ordered steak and stuffed prawns and both said it was excellent and they'd order it again. A great and fun dinner, we never felt rushed but managed to get back to the RR in time. I was kind of off the Boathouse after a very expensive and not great experience at the Port Moody location but this was redeeming. Next time at the RR I might take a pass on their restaurant and head back here!
