A wonderful place to picnic and fly a kite. The dogs love to swim in the little beach area and there are lots of opportunities to enjoy walking about.

This park is at the mouth of the south arm of the Fraser River...the river traffic is mostly fish boats as Richmond is home of the largest fishing port in Canada with 2 fish basins where they tie up......we occasionally spot a seal and rarely fish jumping....the center of the park is a hilly space where people can fly kites or use kites to pull little carts across the hill....we have seen people sending large soap bubbles flying across the space and also seen wind surfers on the water...A visitor to Richmond said one lovely summer day as the hovercraft came to shore that there were more people in the park than in her home town...but most days there are walkers and bike riders and dog walkers and bench sitters ...then when it warms up barbecues....bring your own as there are no beach fires allowed now...but if you want to eat Pajos fish and chips is near the parking lot

Every now and then, my wife and I like to take a long stroll around Garry Point Park. Located near the Steveston's Fishermen Market, the place is surprisingly not overly busy all the time like the Market. You can spend hours walking around the park along the shorelines, observing ships that sail by. On the grass field there are always people flying their kites, which is quite a scene to see.

Because it is located on the tip of Richmond, along the coastline, your stroll can be as brief or as long as you would like it. We have taken walks of half an hour or less to walks that went for hours. The oceanic views, the waves, the breeze, and the kites, can keep you at the park for as briefly or as long as you want.

Pajos has opened its fish and chips restaurant at Garry Point Park a few years back, which adds a great flavour to a visit at the park. After a long walk, when you have worked yourself up for an appetite, you can visit Pajos and enjoy its famous fish and chips. The tastes at this location is just as good as that of the same restaurant just a short walk away at Steveston.

Now that our family has a new member, I can see myself bringing my son over to play frequently. I hope Garry Point Park will remain the same peaceful and tranquil self for years to come for me and my family to enjoy.

Very nice place to go for a long or short enjoyably walk. This park has the most amazing views in Richmond. You can see the boat traffic and Vancouver Island in the distance.

Many events happening all the time, such as kites, local events and event movies are filmed in this wonderful location.

Eat fish and Chips and ice cream. Visit the Cannery or go further into the Steveston Village. It's all good. I can't go every season with my multiple visits to this location. What a better way to spend a sunny day or yet a rainy day too!
