“Tale of a 'floral pulchritudal' city”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Richmond City centre itself is a myriad of floral boulevards, parks, and greenery, which have taken national awards for many years. Outside the malls & stores, the streets & nearby parks are full of colour & blossoms both seasonal & prolonged through the growing season, which is lengthy for this coastal city. Take a walk around town, smell the flowers, enjoy the colours, all kept fresh and cultivated by the industrious parks crews....... much more relaxing than just the concrete of an ordinary city. Richmond is anything but ordinary, north to south, or east to west!!....an extraordinary island city!!

“centrally located”
Reviewed April 2, 2013

largest mall in the area, close to hotels and not far from airport. A major mall in the Vancouver area. Many stores, places to eat and theatre. Also close to Minoru Park.

“Richmond Centre Mall”
Reviewed January 28, 2013

This mall is located in the suburb next to Vancouver approximately 10 miles from downtown Vancouver.

In my opinion, if you’re coming from Vancouver during the evening rush hour, the Canada Line subway system is the way to go as there will be traffic congestion on the main arterial routes.

If you’re leaving from downtown Vancouver you can take the Canada Line at the Waterfront (first station – downstairs, corner of Granville and Hastings Street, across the street from Birks jewellery store) or City Centre (Pacific Centre Mall - corner of Granville and Georgia Street) across the street and downstairs from the London Drugs store) to Richmond Centre.

By Canada Line (Vancouver subway system & elevated tram in Richmond) it’s a 25 minute ride (12 stops from the Waterfront) to the last stop at Brighouse. You get off here; go down the stairs/escalator and cross No. 3 Road and you’re there!
Be sure that you get on the Canada Line that goes to Brighouse and not YVR Airport otherwise you’ll have to transfer to the Brighouse tram at the RiverRock Casino (first stop over the bridge in Richmond). Trains for Brighouse and the airport will alternate leaving the station.

This mall covers approximately 7 football fields in length. The mall is anchored by The Bay department store on the north end, Sears on the south end and 200 plus stores in between.

I won’t bore you with the details on the various stores, etc.
You can check the Richmond Centre website for the store directory.

There is a new food court called the Dining Terrace that now occupies the former site of the Famous Players theatre complex. The Dining Terrace opened recently in November 2012 and is approximately in the centre of the mall.

If you’re looking for something different to have for lunch or a snack but not interested in any foods at the Dining Terrace; see my review of New Town Bakery (across the street from the mall.)

Whether you’re into shopping or just killing a few hours wandering around, this is the place for you.

I would rate the mall 3.5/4 out of 5.

Tips:
The next 2 stops on the Canada Line after the RiverRock casino - Aberdeen and Lansdowne also have malls. The Aberdeen stop just a short walk from the train stop has the Aberdeen Centre Mall at one time considered the largest Asian Mall in North America. Across the street from Aberdeen Centre Mall is Yaohan Centre another Asian mall. The Lansdowne Mall is anchored by Best Buy, Future Shop and the still to be built Target.
