“Beautiful boardwalk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 8, 2014 via mobile

This is located in a quiet area of richmond.

They have their houses, ships, shipyards open to the public for free (donations are accepted). Such a nice way to enjoy learning about the ship yard's history and the people who lived there.

You can walk in and out of the buildings or sit on a bench and enjoy the views or have a picnic. Really lovely.

Walking distance to the fishing village by continuing on the boardwalk. You can spend a whole day in the area and going to all the places. Maps are provided in the visitor building and there are clean washrooms.

“Excellent place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2014

We have been here several times, this past occasion bringing my mother to see it (she is 84 and lives in England). We all enjoyed this site very much - it is easy to access and walk about as a leisurely pace, the buildings and interpretive information are interesting, and the volunteer guides very knowledgeable and helpful. The little gardens are also of interest. Of course all of this is in a very scenic spot. This is definitely a spot to visit.

“Great History of B.C. Fishing Industry”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2014

We enjoyed the fishing cannery tour, big pictures of the industry, way of early life and now. The oceans land area and importance. Value for your entrance money and can take as long as you wish. Small but nice souvenir shop. Great for all ages of learning, seeing and experience the hard work of fishing for food and canning the Salmon and exporting to other countries.

“Sea Breeze ...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 23, 2014

Looking for a quieter side of Richmond, away from the congested traffic near Richmond Center area? This is a nice area to hang out and enjoy the summer sea breeze (or winter if you enjoy the cooler side of things). There are limited parking space available, however, you can always try to park on the near by streets. Pathway will also lead you to Steveston's Fisherman Wharf.

“Lots to see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

This site is made up of several buildings - huge cavernous net loft, small restored workers' residences and the original home of the boss and his family. It is run by volunteers and visits in the summer are best because it is open longer hours.
