Seabreeze does an excellent job from beginning to end. The day started early (7:15 am) with Norm, a courteous and professional shuttle bus driver, picking us up at a nearby hotel in Yaletown. We made two more nearby stops to pick up other tour participants and soon were on our way to the tour company's office in Richmond. The friendly office staff gave us boarding passes. We were given about 30 minutes to walk to nearby shops and buy snacks and a light to-go lunch for the tour, which is convenient if you didn't arrange with Seabreeze to provide lunch when booking the trip. Either way, I highly recommend taking a light lunch because the tour is 4 to 5 hours long. The company does provide complimentary bottled water, coffee and granola bars on the boat.
Captain Lloyd did a fantastic job maneuvering our boat into an excellent position when we encountered whales and orcas. I mention this because he seemed to position the boat at just the right spot compared to the numerous other boats. It's worth noting that the Seabreeze boat is just the right size, with a capacity of around 25 people. Other companies use much larger boats that seem quite crowded and don't provide passengers the best views of whales and other wildlife. Our on-board naturalist was a young woman by the name of "Taz." Her passion for whales and orcas is obvious. She is highly knowledgeable and enthusiastically loves to share it. I would not hesitate to recommend Seabreeze Adventures & Whale Watching.
One important tip: The boat's propulsion engine is quite loud. Be certain to pick up a packet of disposable foam ear plugs at the front of the boat cabin. This is especially important for children; it's never too soon to protect their hearing.
