We definitely saw a lot of whales on this trip in August. The boat was pretty packed, so sometimes, I needed to get in a different spot to take photos, or take the shot from behind someone's shoulder. The guide was definitely very friendly and knowledgeable. But, it was very hard to hear her amongst the sound of the waves and the boat engine. I'm not sure why they don't have a microphone (maybe it's harmful to the animals or will scare the whales away?). The undercover/seating area of the boat was stuffy (which was strange considering there wasn't a door/closed off area). So, if you get seasick very easily, the seating area doesn't actually help. It was better to be outside with the fresh air. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd recommend it if you've never been whale-watching.
