Recently stayed here for 5 nights while attending a training course at the Oval, which was within walking distance, and was the preferred supplier of rooms for the course, I think we got a bit of a rate break.
Rooms were very clean, and quiet...we had an inside room to the courtyard, which at times was a bit loud with kids using the pool area, but wasn't really a problem. Pool and hot tub are outdoors. We didn't know this prior, and found it a bit cool to use in evenings.

Desk staff was good. Initial lady checking in was very friendly and courteous. Through the week, a couple of the older gentlemen at the desk seemed more interested in staring at the computer screen than us, the people in front of them. But again, not bad, just could have been a bit more hospitable.

Overall, the hotel is close to airport, but not so much so you hear the planes. It is very close to the Richmond Downtown mall, as well as many very good restaurants. Also, the city train is very close, which gets you anywhere in Vancouver.

What we enjoyed most was the terrific fitness center that was the best we have ever seen in a hotel. Very high end modern equipment, a few different areas to work out, water, towels, etc...all machines had cable TV screens on them....very nice!

Dining room is standard, and food is pretty good. WE had breakfast buffet a couple of times..its a bit pricey for what you get, but we found that for Richmond/Vancouver in general.

Nice sports bar and lounge just off the lobby, nice atmosphere.

Great shuttle service to and from airport.

What we disliked most was the beds and bedding. We are used to a firm mattress...however, this mattress was the softest we have ever felt. You sunk way down in it...not that it was worn, just way to soft...the bedding was also a bit annoying. The sheets were the type that are "loud" when you move them ....almost like they are stiff feeling. The bed cover and pillows were huge and fluffy. So, the soft bed and the fluffy cover, made you feel like you were sleeping in a trough or cacoon. Some might like this, we just were not used to it...you sunk down into the bed, but your head stayed propped up on the huge pillows. Again, more just personal opinion.

Internet was about $10 a day, but we didn't use it.

Would we stay there again, you bet, we got used to the bedding and all else was just fine.

Room Tip: Rooms in the one tower face courtyard, can be loud if busy with kids.

Reception very friendly. Room very clean....beds could have a little more support in the mattress....hard to believe a hotel still gets away with charging over $10 a day for wireless Internet! For two people in the room, having a 1-cup coffee maker is a real pain...and only offering paper coffee cups and plastic glasses is not indicative of a 4-diamond hotel. We also had to turn off the very noisy air conditioner...made more noise than any of the airplanes!
We were only here for a late evening arrival and early morning departure so did not use any of the hotel amenities.

I stayed here for 7 nights on business earlier this month for a conference.
I dreaded the thought of an airport hotel, but there were a lot of pros and very little cons here.

Pros

Very classy, older hotel but well maintained, beautiful bar area
Large rooms about 200-250 sq feet, most had balconies as well
Comfortable beds and nice bathrooms
1st class service when dealing with front desk, catering and staff
The location was not that bad with tons of restaurants, drug stores and a shopping center
10 Minute walk to the sky train station
Very nice garden with pool and hot tub, did not try them as weather was not great
The gym was enormous by hotel standards
Liquor store open til 11 PM right in the building

Cons
WiFi is not free ($11/day)
Confusing layout, 2 towers plus a 2 floor building linking them,
since we were a large group and spread out, it made it very confusing to go from place to place
Different entrances and some were closed at times.
1st floor rooms overlooking the parking lot are as bad and noisy as it sounds
The hallways can also get very noisy at times if you're on the first floor

I believe the parking is free, and there is a free shuttle to the airport.
I only ate at Harold's once for breakfast and it's ok, but a little on the pricey
But the Starbucks got real busy, good coffee and sandwiches at a decent price

I love the option of turning down room service, you get a $5 voucher per day, which you can use at the restaurant

I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks. I loved it here:

1. Very clean rooms.
2. Very friendly and helpful staff.
3. The food from Harold's was very tasty (I ordered a lot of room service and was happy to see that they had healthy food options... i.e. turkey and eggwhite wrap (wholewheat) = delicious)
4. The fitness room! Without exaggerating, it was the nicest hotel fitness room I have seen yet. Lots of good quality machines with a half decent view out a wall of windows.
5. There's a Starbucks in the lobby, I mean come on, who doesn't love Starbucks.
6. The outdoor pool looked very nice and inviting (though I never did have a chance to go for a swim)
7. LOCATION. So many great restaurants within walking distance. Five minute walk to a mall. And of course, close to the airport.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had taken a one-way cruise into Vancouver and just needed a place to stay for the night before flying home to California the next morning. The hotel was really clean, room was nice, bed was REALLY comfortable, friendly staff, room service ice cream was yummy, parking was easy and convenient, and it turned out that there was a nice casino just a few minutes' drive away. Starbucks in the lobby. And, if you're using Starwood points to pay for it as we did, it's an excellent value, too. Turned out to be a wonderful choice. HAPPY to recommend it.
