This is best in the block for airport hotels. Yes the fairmont is more convenient but it was also double the price. This is sparkling new and has great modern simplicity and luxury. The room was very spacious, comfortable and quite. No road or plane noise. They also have a shuttle to the airport that runs every 20 minutes. I will certainly stay here again when taking an early flight out.

For an airport hotel where you only need to stay one night or two before a flight, it is totally overpriced...rooms are small but smell and look amazing. Staff are friendly and nice. The hotel should lower their prices, especially since it's in an area that's under construction and incredibly muddy (or dusty if it's not raining)...pool and hot tub are nice but it's a long 10 minute walk to get to it down a few creepy and long hallways. Hotel is 100% completely overpriced!!!!!!! Don't get me started either on the $22 dollar fee for parking ontop of the overpriced rooms!!!

I was very much looking forward to this hotel as it was brand new, only two months since opening. Upon entering the lobby, you are greeted with a new, fresh look and feel. Even the air was lightly scented with a hint of vanilla. Checking in was quick and efficient and I was on my way to the room. The key is a card type typical of most hotels; however, you only need to hover the key in front of the door to engage the lock. Because this is a brand new hotel, I was greeted with that new room smell. The scent is not overpowering, just enough to let you know you are amongst the first guests in the room. Having spent numerous vacations in ageing properties, it was gratifying to be the first few guests. My initial instinct was correct; this indeed was a fine hotel. Brand new furnishings adorned the room. No scuff marks, worn carpeting, or anything outdated. The bathroom had a very generously sized walk in ceramic shower enclosed by a sliding glass door. A large non-jetted soaker tub is along the opposite wall. The shower and tub are separated by the sink, which is a stylish bowl type that sits atop the vanity. The King size bed is typical of the Westin brand. It was very soft complemented by numerous pillows of varying degrees of firmness. An IPod docking station makes up the alarm clock radio. I located an empty bar fridge that I thought was the refreshment center, but you have to order room service for any such item. I did just that and within five minutes, my order was at the door. After what must have been a hectic day, the room server joked about taking a few moments to join me in a drink. That friendly banter was evident by all the staff and that meant allot. Because this is an airport location, you are not close to the services. The new Canada Line Skytrian is a five minute walk from the hotel. From the skytrain you can ride all the way to downtown. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport. Internet is available for a fee. If you are a member of the Starwood Guest Program, at the platinum level or higher, you may receive this service complementary. A large flat screen TV is mounted on the wall directly in front of the bed. Large floor to ceiling windows offers a commanding view of the nearby mountains. Or you may sit and watch the airplanes make the final approach to the airport. There is a fitness center and pool onsite however I did not utilize these. A business center is available which is a perfect opportunity to check in online and print out your boarding pass. In fact, the home page consists of the many airlines webpage links so it is as easy as a mouse click to navigate to their homepage. I hope the property is maintained to the high degree that it is in at the time of my first visit. I look forward to my next layover at the Vancouver Airports’ Westin Wall Center.

A 5 minute drive from the International airport brought us to the brand new hotel on the shores of the Frazer River overlooking Richmond Marina. We were allocated an Executive room on the 15th(top) floor that provided us with fantastic views to the north to Cypress Mountain where a couple of the 2010 Olympic events were held and Grouse Mountain. Room was spacious and very comfortable. I reckon we were the first customers as it was immaculate. The ensuite had a deep bath as well as a huge shower enclosure. A large wall mounted Plasma/LCD screen TV was fitted and rental films were available but we didn't bother. A Filter coffee machine was available but only one coffee filter was provided per day per person but you could buy more at reception. A fridge was available (in which we left some cakes we carried out from the Empress Hotel in Victoria and promptly forgot about - sorry) but no mini bar items - not that we use things like that - too expensive. A room safe was available and after removing the stupid shelf I was able to get my laptop, cameras and lenses in there for peace of mind. We used the excellent indoor swimming pool once - in fact we were the only ones to use it. There was also a hot tub but we couldn't get the thing to start the bubbles. I pressed everything to try and get it working - even the alarm button ... A small gym was available with running machines + other pieces of kit. We took towels from the room for swimming but realised that towels were available down there. Lockers were available but were not fitted with locks so be prepared to keep your things with you.
There was a bar and cafe off the reception lobby but we didn't use them. One downside was the breakfast each day. It was somewhat bizarre really with what was served up. This was my first visit to Canada so don't know what is the 'norm' for breakfast but I did expect cereal/muesli but even that was noticeable by its absence. Fellow travellers requested toast and a toaster did appear next morning but then disappeared again. How strange. Final niggle was the noise emanating from the air-con in the corridor outside. It was on full power - probably to dry the building out - but it was very annoying for the first couple of nights until we got used to it.
Overall a great place to stay with only a relatively short walk to Aberdeen station for the CanadaLine train to Vancouver city centre (20mins). Oh and finally the Boathouse Restaurant over the road served excellent food.

This is a very nice, new, facility, with easy access to the Canada Line light rail, which is a 20 minute ride to downtown Vancouver. Restaurant needs to work out the Kinks, and access is very confusing, but otherwise, the hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are very nicely appointed. I would stay there again.
