I recently stayed with my family at Copperstone for one night. It was cost efficient for our goup of five as we needed 3 bedrooms. Our unit was a 2 bedroom with a den. The two bedrooms were great with very comfortable king size beds. The sheets were soft and the comforter was exceptional. There were ample pillows. Two full size bathrooms were upstairs with the bedrooms. The master bedroom had one attached and the other was across the hall from the second bedroom. The "den" was a small windowless room on the main floor with bunk beds. Although they were comfortable they squeaked with every small movement which my daughters found annoying. I recommend the bunk beds for small children only. The unit was very clean and tidy. I paid extra for the mountain view which was quite nice as we faced west and could enjoy the sunset. However the abandoned junky lot in front of our balcony was very distateful and really took something away from the term "mountain view". Bring groceries with you as there is not much around you unless you drive the 10 minutes to Canmore. There is a gas station store with an attached restaurant across the street.

Recently we booked two nights at the CopperStone Resort in Dead Man's Flats (4 km outside Canmore) and were we ever impressed. So impressed that we ended up extending our stay and booked a third night. I believe both my wife and I and now believe that this place has set our expectations for every other hotel we'll ever stay at quite high.
When we arrived we had troubles finding the main lobby and did two laps around the entire perimeter of the property before finally realizing where it was. Upon arrival we were greeted by Erin at the front desk who was absolutely splendid to deal with. She noticed that we were travelling with an infant and made sure everything was taken care of quickly and efficiently.
We were given a room on the second floor (room 2208) and as we opened the door an uncontrollable "wow" escaped our mouths. The kitchen is nicer than our own home, the bathroom is nicer, the living room nicer and.. well.. heck.. everything was nicer. It was a one bedroom suite and from our private covered balcony we had a view of the three sisters mountains - gorgeous. There's even a good, working dishwasher!
We ended up saving plenty of money on meals as we had breakfast in our room each morning, made our lunches for the day and had some pretty good meals for dinner as well. There's a grocery store in Canmore and though I didn't use it, there's even a barbeque that the guests can use as well.
If there's anything I could recommend for this resort to improve it would be the water pressure in the shower. But I feel like I'm a hotel snob now.
In closing, this property is spectacular. It's a 40/60 split of condos/hotel rooms and the hotel rooms are furnished precisely as a condo. We are eager for the chance to return.
And, a special shout out to the front desk staff member Erin for making us feel warm and welcome. As the other reviews say, it's hard to throw these ladies off their game with any difficult questions.

we spent the last three nights of a three week Canadian holiday in Dead Mans Flats. We didnt arrive until 11 pm at night and I was delighted to see our two bed appartment, very comfortable, and quiet. We were in Block 3 (of three) which was away from the road, I would not have been pleased to be in the main block as it faces the road and is very close to the main highway. Beds very comfortable. well equipped kitchen. Nice location with stream running beside and at the back. Unfortunately, we spent most of the time when we were in the apartment swotting mosquitos as the place was over run with them. I was bitten all over, my two children not as bad as me, we were afraid to use the balcony and hot tub, we didnt open the window without using the bug screen so dont know how so many got in. Super laundry facilities, helpful staff, handy little shop over the road (with limited range of items at extortionate prices!). OK for milk and OJ. I would recommend Copperstone as a good base for a family visiting the area, but they should install devices in the rooms to deal with mosquitos.

Room Tip: Block 3 furthest away from the road.

A few very small details that could be fixed but first let me say how wonderful this resort is. Front desk was always happy and helpful.Room was clean. Loved the doggy treat bag at check in.
All that I really have to say is that for a dog friendly resort there were no garbage cans outside to put your used baggies into- had to take it inside to the parkade.
The one frying pan in the kitchen was terrible. Couldn't use it- so was down to one while making breakfast. The knives were dull. Wi-fi was working but too slow to bother using. But these are all very minor and can be fixed. Didn't effect our stay at all.
The view from our dog friendly room was the beautiful creek that runs along side the resort. They don't own the area next to it that looks like an abandon camp ground- a bit junky- but the dogs don't mind. Walking around this area was very nice- but bring bug spray!
They had a list of 25 movies (DVD's) to choose from at the front desk. Good choices.
This resort is worth the stay!

I stayed @ Copperstone Resort for 4 nights in July 16th to 19th 2012, with 50% off regular price.
Here is my 2 cents for those who want to stay here.

Pros:
1. The full kitchen was great with in suite laundry very convenient.☕
2. Hot pool was great
3. Front desk was very courteous, always smiling and helpful with most of the issues, I tried to irritate them a couple of times with no success
4. The creek at the back of the resort was very blissfull.
5. Fitness room was good.

Cons:

1. Air condition was not cooling the bedroom enough (the front desk promised to send someone who never showed up).
2. Mosquito haven, if you have nothing to do at night, will keep you busy.
3. Had to wash all dishes before use, use only after through cleaning, as the previous occupants left the dishes really dirty.
4. The pullout bed was slightly better than the carpet or the low cost Ikea bed (with only a thin bed sheet to cover the springs)

If you do not mind these issues and get a good deal go for it.

Recently stayed at this resort for 5 days with my partner and our dog Kodi (dalmatian), we had a great time, very nice place, clean, stocked with everything you need in the kitchen. We found the trail in the back of the building with a nice stream and my dog instantly fell inlove with it, had to go there everyday after that! The mountains surrounding the building is absolutely breathtaking. The only thing negative i could say was that the walls were thin and you can hear everyone. All in All we enjoyed our stay and would love to stay there again someday.

Room Tip: Request main floor if you have pets.
